SANTA MONICA, July 24, 2007 (KABC-TV) - Just two weeks after completing a second rehab stint, actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested in Santa Monica early Tuesday on suspicion of drunken driving and cocaine possession.

The 21-year-old actress was booked on two misdemeanor charges of suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license and two felony charges of possession of cocaine and transportation of a narcotic into a custody facility.

Police found what appeared to be cocaine inside one of her pants pocket when she got into the Santa Monica facility.

Officers say this all started at around 1:30 a.m. near the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium along Pico Boulevard and Main Street. Officers reportedly got a call from a driver that said he or she was being chased by another car. The driver of that other car turned out to be Lindsay Lohan.

Authorities say she had two other people in the car at the time. Officers took her out of the car and gave her a field sobriety, which she failed. They then brought her back to the Santa Monica Police Department. That is when she discovered what appeared to be cocaine in a pocket.

Police say a breath test was conducted at the facility and her blood alcohol was between .12 percent and .13 percent. California's legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Lohan was released at 6:20 a.m. after posting $25,000 bail.

In May, Lohan was arrested for a DUI after she crashed her Mercedes in Beverly Hills. Just last week, Lohan turned herself into the Beverly Hills Police Department and was booked on those DUI charges.

Lohan just recently completed a 45-day stay in the Malibu treatment facility. She just turned 21 on July 2nd. This is Lohan's second DUI arrest this year.

We could all make the pledge...it's never going away. People either love it, or love to hate it, or pretend to be repulsed but crave every new story. I mean, this got posted on a text sim internet message board. This shit's here to stay.

How can someone "refuse to be interested?" You are either interested or not. If stuff like this interests you, the only thing you can do is stay away from news sites that post these articles (which is all of them). Because once it is posted as news, and you see it, your interest kicks in.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have released an audio copy of the 911 call made by the mother of Lindsay Lohan's former personal assistant in the minutes before Lohan's arrest.

The woman pleaded frantically for help early Tuesday because a mysterious car was following her, according to the audio copy, released Thursday. The 911 call lasted nearly three minutes.

Lohan, 21, was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence and with a suspended license, and felony cocaine possession.

Her personal assistant had quit hours before the event, police said.

The woman contacted a Santa Monica police dispatcher shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday while driving on Wilshire Boulevard (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=). She apparently didn't realize the actress was in the white GMC following her.

"We were just about to park our car. We are turning home and out of nowhere a huge white GMC came up," the woman said to the dispatcher.

"We're being followed by a GMC ... the gentleman jumped out of the car," she said a few seconds later. "Oh my God, sir, they're following us. We need help."

The dispatcher repeatedly asked the woman for her location. The woman eventually said she was heading for the police station (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=).

Police said the woman, accompanied by a passenger, drove her black Cadillac Escalade into the parking lot of Santa Monica's Civic Auditorium, about a block away from the police department (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=), followed by Lohan driving a Yukon sport utility vehicle.

During the call, the woman could be heard saying, "Oh my God, what is he doing?" Near the end, hysterical but muffled yelling and screaming is heard.

A few moments later, the woman could be heard in the background, apparently pointing out people to the officers.

"That's him, that's him right there," she said. "And him, stop them."

Authorities saw Lohan and the woman in what police have called a "heated debate." They also said two men were with the actress in the car.

Three men have alleged they were with Lohan when she began chasing the woman, celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported Thursday.

According to the Web site, the men alleged that Lohan commandered the car outside a party in Malibu (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=), about 20 miles away. One of the men claimed to have jumped out of the car just as Lohan accelerated, TMZ said.

The allegations could not be independently verified by The Associated Press.

Lohan's lawyer, Blair Berk, declined comment when reached late Thursday by the AP.
Santa Monica police Sgt. Marty Fine declined comment and referred questions to a media representative who wasn't available.

Richie, 25, the daughter of Lionel Richie (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=), was subdued and somber as she was lectured about her driving. She entered court on the arm of boyfriend Joel Madden.

She stood before the judge and softly answered "guilty" when asked how she pleaded to the charge.

Superior Court Commissioner Steven K. Lubell also gave Richie three years' probation and warned that she would go to jail for a year if she violates it.
