Ok, so I noticed on Google Maps that you can now drag your route to suggest a different way to get to your destination. I thought this was cool, so I told a buddy of mine. He said he kept on trying and nothing was happening.

We then realized that I went to maps.google.ca, while he went to maps.google.com.

Is this the case for everyone? I just checked and it's the same for me too. Why would maps.google.ca have functionality that maps.google.com doesn't have? That seems weird.

I have no problem dragging new routes in maps.google.com.

I thought I was the only one who loved this.

Thanks to Google, I can now get into the city by my preferred route!!!

It's amazing the amount of ways I can distract from my workday.

Hmm maybe I read it there and it was in my mind all along.

That's so weird. Why can't me or my friend do the dragging on .com? Can you guys do it on .ca?

I'll leave the Canadian jokes aside and just answer your question with "yes, it works for me on .ca"

Dude it's awesome. A couple weeks ago when it launched I was able to route out my trip I took in 2004. This is the functionality you get from programs like streets and trips online!

Because it's pretty cool being able to map it out and actually see it down on paper.

From the post I linked to:

Bump...and in other news of "fantastic Google Maps features," they have finally implemented the greatest thing I could ever ask for (outside of not having to work and being sent two hot chicks):

You can now get directions between your two points, and then, if you don't like the route they've given you, you can drag the route along to the road(s) you prefer and it will update the directions with the route you should take from that new point until your ultimate destination. Don't like the next road they put you on? Update it again.

As someone who is a semi-frequent traveler for work, this is huge. Many times I'll have to go somewhere and not want to deal with the traffic of certain highways, so I'll have alternate ones in mind, but I don't know how to navigate between the major highways I'm trying to hit. Now I can see exactly how to get between two roads without having to look over each individual connecting road, figuring out exit numbers, etc.

Google, you've made life easier once again.
