Dynasty Overview

The purpose of the Nebraska Blizzards Dynasty is to tell a compelling and intriguing story using FOF2 as the backdrop.

The Story So Far (Updated 2/28/03!!!)

It all began in January 2000. That year, Anthony Coriolanus, President and CEO of AgroGlobal Corporation, and a man known only as "The Executioner" agreed to a join forces in a business venture expected to generate billions of dollars. Using Coriolanus’ connections with the National Football League Commissioner’s Office, the two men set out to purchase an expansion franchise to generate large amounts of cash separate and apart from their own personal income. Then, using Executioner’s connections to the infamous Mexican Zopepe Drug Cartel, the money made by the team would be invested into drug trafficking to generate incredible profits. Since they decided that the team’s name would be the Nebraska Blizzards, it seemed appropriate that their criminal venture should be code-named Operation Snow Blind.

Their plan began with Coriolanus bribing NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and other league executives to obtain enough votes to win the bid for an expansion franchise in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Executioner, meanwhile, assassinated the most prominent competitors for the expansion franchise team, as well as those opposed to construction of the Blizzards’ stadium.

After Coriolanus was awarded the NFL's latest expansion franchise, he set out to hire the best General Manager in the league—Jack “Grid” Iron. Since Grid was under contract with the San Diego Chargers, Coriolanus framed Iron by paying a notorious bookie, Heather Diamond, to accuse the GM of gambling on NFL games. After Iron was fired by the Chargers due to the criminal charges, Coriolanus befriended him, and even paid for his lawyer throughout the ensuing jury trial. Iron was later acquitted after Diamond surprised prosecutors by testifying that she made up the accusations only to gain notoriety. Since Coriolanus had supported Grid Iron throughout the entire ordeal, Iron’s decision to be the Blizzards’ GM was an easy one.

After securing the franchise, stadium and general manager, Coriolanus and the Executioner began investing the team’s profits into the drug trade. Over several years, Coriolanus donated millions of dollars generated by the Blizzards to sham charities in South America and Mexico. These charities then laundered the money by transferring it to the cartel, where it was used to fund the drug smuggling operations. The drug profits were then deposited into several off-shore bank accounts, set up by the Executioner.

The enterprise was wildly successful, as both men made over one billion dollars within 10 years. Coriolanus was content to bask in the glory of his vast, new wealth. The Executioner, however, had different plans for his share of the profits.

Working with CIA Director Archie Bitzer, also known as “Silencer,” the Executioner used the money earned from the cartel’s drug activities to genetically engineer a virus that would kill anyone of Arab ancestry. In 2015, the virus was released into a small village in Saudi Arabia, and it spread quickly across the entire region, gaining its nickname, the “Arabian Flu.” By the end of 2016, it had reached every country in the Middle East and killed over 500,000 people. By 2017, the disease appeared for the first time in the United States when a businessman from Yemen died shortly after arriving in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2018, the first case in the continental U.S. occurred when a Saudi immigrant, who had not been to the Middle East in several years, died in a Bronx, New York, hospital.

In 2019, Bitzer urged the Executioner to begin what is known only as “Phase 2,” which involved distributing a vaccine for the Arabian Flu. The Executioner refused, telling Bitzer that he could not provide him a vaccine because none existed - he had lied about it merely to secure Bitzer’s help. Wracked with guilt, Bitzer later took his own life. FBI Agent Alex Goldstein, however, discovered the Executioner’s plot while reviewing Bitzer’s computer files.

Also in 2019, the countries of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia began deploying large numbers of troops and missiles (suspected of carrying chemical weapons) to their borders with Israel, which they blamed for the disease. In response, Israel detonated a tactical nuclear device in an uninhabited area to deter any military attack by the Arabs.

The escalating violence in the Middle East convinced Goldstein to suggest to his superiors that the U.S. take responsibility for its role in creating the virus. The President of the United States ordered a cover-up of the incident. Goldstein, however, saved the computer records and planned to go public with the information.

Unfortunately, the National Security Agency caught wind of Goldstein’s plan and had him arrested to face charges of treason before a military tribunal. He is currently being held at a secret military base outside of the continental United States.

As for Coriolanus, he fled the U.S. in 2014 following an attempt on his life by one of the Executioner’s assassins and his indictment for drug trafficking. He re-appeared in 2016, however, in Germany. Holed up with a large cache of firearms in a small apartment in suburban Hamburg, Coriolanus told Interpol authorities that he killed his own wife and children mercifully because he feared that they would have suffered horrific and painful deaths if the Executioner got to them first. After several hours of negotiation, Coriolanus agreed to surrender and the authorities all about Operation Snow Blind. Unfortunately, as Coriolanus walked out of the apartment and towards the waiting police, he was shot and killed by an unknown assassin.

To date, the Arabian Flu has killed over three million people, and there is no cure in sight. Further, the Executioner’s purpose in creating the virus and releasing it upon the Middle East is currently unknown.

In addition, over the last decade several South Pacific villages, and all of their inhabitants, have been completely destroyed by missiles from Russian Mako helicopters. The Russian government has denied any involvement. The CIA believes that several Mako helicopters that vanished on a training mission in 2003 in Siberia were actually stolen by the squadron commander, Vladimir Maritczak, and his men. A worldwide search has begun for Maritczak, who was an outspoken Ukrainian and considered to be sympathetic toward the United States and NATO. Any connection between the Mako helicopters and Operation Snow Blind, if there is one, is unknown at this time.

On December 31, 2019, NORAD detected the launch of 35 missiles from various Arab nations directed at Israel. Shortly thereafter, Israel launched a counter-strike of 65 rockets, which satellites showed to be armed with nuclear warheads. The capitals of Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Syria are among the cities targeted. The missiles are currently enroute. . .

House Rules (Updated 2/28/03!)

I employ a fairly standard set of "house rules" (empty cupboard, no franchise tag, must maintain a 53-man roster, no renegotiating, can't make trade proposals, trades must pass "fairness test", no current NFL players, auto-sign rookies, signing bonus must at least equal salary of final year on contract). During the 20-step free agent period, I may negotiate with any player who was on my team the previous season without restriction. As for free agents who did not play on my team the previous season, I may sign up to three of them during the 20-step process, but I may only bid on one player at a time and I cannot modify my original offer. After the 20-step free agency period, I can only sign undrafted rookie free agents and players who were on my roster the previous season. All contracts signed outside of the 20-step process must be for exactly what the player asks, or for one year. I may decide some day to allow renegotiating with “classy veterans,” but I haven’t made up my mind yet.

<h1>WAR!</h1>
<h3>Millions die as Arabs, Israelis exchange missiles </h3>
January 1, 2020

Washington, D.C. (AP) – The U.S. Department of State reported today that millions have died from Middle East missiles attacks that occurred yesterday on New Year's Eve.

Sources explained that the devastation began when Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan launched 35 missiles containing Sarin nerve gas late last night at the Israeli cities of Jerusalem, Nazareth, Haifa, Tel-Aviv, Ashdod, and Dimona. Reports from Israel indicate that over one million people have died from the gas attacks, and the number of fatalities continues to climb.

Israel responded with the first detonation of a nuclear warhead in an act of war since the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan in 1945. Military sources state that 65 Israeli nuclear missiles detonated over various targets in the Middle East, including Cairo, Damascus, Riyadh, and Amman—the captials of Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan. All inhabitants within a 25 mile radius of those cities are presumed dead at this time.

<b>U.S. General Corin Tubbs</b> announced that half of the military’s heavy bombers are currently in the air and will remain so until the threat level to the United States is determined. He also stated that the President is currently safe, along with his staff, on board Air Force One.

In Geneva, <b>U.N. Secretary General Jean-Paul Petain</b> of France called for a cease-fire following an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council. “This is a truly tragic event, and everyone involved must realize that further aggression will not serve the peace process.”

<b>2020 Preview</b>

<b><u>Ticket Prices</u></b>

In response to last season’s Super Bowl victory, the team raised the price of Club Level seats $100 each to $4,600. The price for Luxury Boxes increased $4,000 to $265,000.

<b><u>Scouts/Coaches</u></b>

There were no coach or scout changes for 2020. Head coach <b>Damon Walsh</b> faces a tough task in repeating his incredible rookie campaign that brought Nebraska its second NFL Championship. “I’m very excited to get back to work and winning another Super Bowl,” said the second-year coach.

<b><u>Retirements</u></b>

Tom Posey, the Blizzards' first-round pick (fourth overall) out of San Diego State in 2007, retired after the 2019 season. He currently holds the franchise record for receiving yards (5905) and touchdown receptions (27). Last year, Tom led the team with 766 receiving yards and scored three touchdowns. However, a broken jaw suffered in the regular season finale forced him to miss the playoffs and the Super Bowl.

<b><u>Expansion</u></b>

In 2020, the league welcomed two new teams, the Omaha Raptors and Los Angeles Earthquakes. “We’re really looking forward to an in-state rivalry with Omaha,” said Blizzards <b>GM Grid Iron</b>. Omaha will join the NFC Central, while Los Angeles joins the NFC East.

<b><u>Free Agency</u></b>

The Blizzards went into the free agency period $87.6 million under the $193.9 salary cap. “We’ve got a lot of room to maneuver,” said Iron.

<i>Franchise Player</i>

Team GM Grid Iron issued a new mandate before the start of the free agency period: “I’m not going to use the franchise player designation anymore.” Iron explained that the franchise tag just creates animosity and bad feelings in the clubhouse. “It also deprives players the opportunity to be paid their fair market value . . . That just isn’t fair.”

<i>Key Players Re-Signed</i>

Grid Iron used the free agency period to re-sign several starting players:
<ul>
<li><b>TE Courtney Donovan</b>, the Blizzards second-round pick out of Rice in 2014, signed a $19.34 million contract for 3 years. He won All-League Second Team honors in 2016 and 2017.
<li><b>C Julio Moore</b>, Nebraska’s first-round pick (28th overall) in 2016 out of Texas A&M, signed a $31.95 million contract for 4 years after nearly two months of negotiation. He was named All-League First Team last year, his first as the starting center for the Blizzards.
<li><b>K Sam Brewer</b> signed a 3-year contract for $7.54 million dollars. Nebraska’s third-round pick out of Tennessee in 2017, Brewer was named All-League First Team in 2019.
</ul>
<i>Key Players Lost</i>

The Blizzards lost one key player in the 2020 free agency period:
<ul>
<li><b>S Jose Laliberte</b> signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for $8.92 million over four years. Laliberte was the Blizzards’ first-round pick in 2004 (2nd overall) out of Illinois and never missed a start in 12 seasons until losing his starting job in 2016 to then third-year <b>S Charles Mangum</b>. He leaves Nebraska holding the franchise record with 1,057 tackles.
</ul>
<i>Key Players Gained</i>

In addition to re-signing several key players, Grid Iron used the free agency period to fill needs at defensive end, defensive tackle and guard:
<ul>
<li><b>G Wendell Crumpton</b>, Arizona’s second-round pick out of Kansas in 2016, signed an $18.25 million three-year contract with the Blizzards. Crumpton started all 16 games for Arizona last season, making 23 key run blocks in 73 chances (31.5%).
<li><b>DE Burt Rubio</b>, Buffalo’s second-round pick out of Kentucky in 2016, joined Nebraska after signing a three-year, $15.39 million contract and is expected to start this year. He accumulated 15.5 sacks in four seasons with the Bills.
<li><b>DT Jason Woods</b>, a fourth-round pick out of Maryland in 2014 signed a $12.56 million, three-year contract with the Blizzards. In six seasons with Kansas City, he started only two games.
</ul>
<b><u>Trades</u></b>

Grid Iron received several offers for <b>QB Moran Sweeney</b>, but refused to part with his starting quarterback. “He’s as close to untouchable as a player could get,” said Iron.

<b><u>Amateur Draft </u></b>

GM Grid Iron accomplished exactly what he wanted to do in the 2020 draft by adding depth at center, fullback, tight end, and safety. <b>C Ken-Yon McCarthy</b>, the team’s first pick of the draft (36th overall) out of Texas Tech, will back up All-League <b>C Julio Moore</b> and should be able to easily step in start should the need arise due to injury. Here are all of the Blizzards 2020 draft picks:

Rnd 1 - Ken-Yon McCarthy, C, Texas Tech
Rnd 2 - Tom Carlisle, FB, Southern Illinois
Rnd 3 - Riall Butler, S, Notre Dame
Rnd 4 - Kenny Fryar, TE, Boston College
Rnd 5 - Ricky Lofton, WR, Temple
Rnd 6 - Bryce Joyner, CB, Army
Rnd 7 - Greg Grubbs, LB, Middle Tenn. St.

<b><u>Training Camp/Exhibition Season</u></b>

The Blizzards went 2-2 in the exhibition season and avoided any major injuries.

<b><u>Schedule</u></b>

The Blizzards' schedule this year is nothing less than brutal. Nebraska will play 10 games against teams that made the playoffs last year, and only four contests are against teams that finished 2019 with a losing record. In addition, the Blizzards square off against Detroit in a Super Bowl rematch in Week 11.

<b>Kuwait U.N. delegate urges need for peacekeepers in Middle East</b>

January 2, 2020

New York, N.Y. (Reuters) - Kuwait's U.N. delegate, <b>Crown Prince Jamir Al Sabah</b>, urged the Security Council today to begin immediate preparations for placing a peace-keeping force in the Middle East. "It is imperative to maintain stability in the region that the international community act quickly to prevent weapons of mass destruction from falling into the hands of the terrorists groups that survived the holocaust," Al Sabah said.

<b>U.N. Secretary General Jean-Paul Petain</b> of France agreed "in principle" but stressed that more time was needed to "evaluate the situation."

Al Sabah responded harshly, "What is there to study? The governments of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Syria have been wiped from the face of the earth!" Al Sabah explained that his intelligence reports show several terrorist organizations have begun scavenging for nuclear warheads and chemical weapons that survived the horrific New Year's Eve battle.

<b>Eagles stadium negotiations collapse</b>

September 30, 2020

Philadelphia, PA (Ticker) - The Philadelphia Eagles announced today that negotiations to extend their lease at Lincoln Financial Field have collapsed. "We couldn't come to a mutually beneficial lease extension," said Eagles GM <b>Donovan McNabb</b>.

The failed negotiations, sources say, opens the door for several cities clamoring for an NFL franchise. Among the favorites are Fargo, North Dakota, and Melbourne, Florida--two cities that have already constructed state-of-the art stadiums in the hopes of luring a potential franchise away. "This looks like an outstanding opportunity for the City of Melbourne," said <b>Anthony Angelino</b>, a New York City construction mogul who leads the investment group trying to bring an NFL team to Melbourne.

<b>Kuwaiti U.N. delegate calls for more peacekeepers</b>

October 29, 2020

Kuwait City, Kuwait - Kuwait's <b>Crown Prince Jamir Al Sabah</b> called for more U.N. peacekeepers in the Middle East due to the recent breakout of terrorist violence across the region. "The U.N. and <b>Secretary General Jean-Paul Petain</b> continue to stand by and watch terrorist organizations consolidate their power." "Something needs to be done, or we will be at their mercy!"

There are already over 100,000 U.N. peacekeepers in the Middle East assisting the new interim governments of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Israel rebuild their devastated cities. Al Sabah claims, however, that at least five times that many will be needed. "Nuclear weapons and chemical agents may fall into the hands of these terrorists, and we must do everything we can to ensure the safety of all Arabs."

Israeli <b>Prime Minister Terry Samaheyah</b> also called for more U.N. security. "We need more peacekeepers since virtually all of our military personnel here were killed when the Arabs used their chemical weapons on us."

<b>Week 11: Blizzards (6-3) at Lions (5-4)</b>

Blizzards <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> rushed for 144 yards which included a 69-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter as Nebraska edged San Diego 16-6. <b>QB Leroy Starks</b>, playing for the injured <b>QB Moran Sweeney</b>, sprained his knee and is questionable for next week’s game.

<b>Week 12: Blizzards (7-3) vs. Raiders (6-4)</b>

<b>S Jerametrius Midget</b> had two interceptions and the Blizzards held off a late Raiders comeback as Nebraska defeated Oakland 17-14.

<b>Week 13: Blizzards (8-3) at Chiefs (6-5)</b>

The Blizzards defense recovered two fumbles and recorded three interceptions, two of which went for touchdowns, as Nebraska destroyed San Diego 41-6. Second-string <b>RB Alonzo McCreary</b> rushed for 73 yards and two scores after <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> left early with a minor injury. Jerome is expected to start next week. His brother, <b>QB Moran Sweeney</b>, started his first game since suffering a broken hand in Week 9. He is completely back to health.

<b><u>3/4 Season Review</u></b>

At 9-3 the Blizzards are alone in first place, two games ahead of Oakland (7-5), Denver (7-5) and Seattle (7-5). In addition, the team is tied with Jacksonville (9-3) and Indianapolis (9-3) for the best record in the AFC, and is one game behind the St. Louis Rams (10-2) for the best record in the NFL. Nebraska can clinch the AFC West next week with a win over Seattle, coupled with losses by Oakland and Denver.

Blizzards <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> has rushed for 1,288 yards (3rd) and 14 touchdowns (T-1st). Going into final four games, the Blizzards boast the league’s best defense (13.4 pts/game) and second-best offense (24.7 pts/game).

<b>U.N. refuses to increase Middle East peace-keeping force</b>

November 6, 2020

New York, NY (Reuters) - <b>U.N. Secretary General Jean-Paul Petain</b> announced today that the current number of peacekeepers in the Middle East is "sufficient to maintain stability in the region." "I believe that increasing the number of peacekeepers in the Middle East will merely serve to increase the potential violence."

Kuwait's <b>Crown Prince Jamir Al Sabah</b> was outraged at the announcement. "People continue to die at the hands of terrorists who are trying to wrest control over this region from the interim governments," he announced from the Royal Kuwait Palace. "If the Secretary General is not willing resolve the situation and preserve the safety of the Arab people, perhaps we need someone who will."

<b>Week 14: Blizzards (9-3) vs. Seahawks (7-5)</b>

Nebraska <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> had his best game of the year to win Player of the Week honors, rushing for 208 yards and four touchdowns as the Blizzards destroyed the Seahawks 35-13.

The victory allowed Nebraska to tie St. Louis (10-3) for best record in the league, and with a win next week, the Blizzards will clinch the AFC West.

<b>Week 15: Blizzards (10-3) vs. Steelers (9-4)</b>

Nebraska <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> rushed for 165 yards and the Blizzards held off a late Steelers rally to clinch the AFC West, 24-21.

Jerome’s three touchdowns in the game tied <b>RB Terrell Davis’</b> AFC single-season record for rushing touchdowns with 21. The fourth-year running back, drafted by Nebraska in the second round of the 2017 draft, is just four touchdowns shy of <b>RB Emmitt Smith’s</b> NFL single-season record of 25 rushing touchdowns, set 25 years ago 1995.

<b>Week 16: Blizzards (11-3) vs. Bears (5-9)</b>

A fumbled Bears punt return at the Chicago 27 with 11:35 left in the fourth quarter set up <b>K Sam Brewer’s</b> 20-yard go-ahead field goal, lifting the Blizzards to a 6-3 victory. Nebraska <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> was held to just 71 yards on the day.

With the victory, Nebraska clinched the best record in the NFL at 12-3, and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

<b>Week 17: Blizzards (12-3) at Seahawks (5-10)</b>

In a game that had no playoff implications, the Blizzards fell 20-13 to the Seattle Seahawks. <b>QB Moran Sweeney</b> sat the game out and <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> saw limited action, rushing for 69 yards and a touchdown.

<b><u>Full Season Review</u></b>

The Blizzards finished the season with the best record in the NFL at 12-4, and will host either the Indianapolis Colts (10-6) or the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-6) in the Divisional Playoff in two weeks.

<b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> is considered a favorite to win the 2020 NFL MVP Award after leading the league in rushing yards (1,801) and touchdowns (22). His 22 touchdowns broke the previous AFC record of 21 set in 1998 by <b>RB Terrell Davis</b> of the Denver Broncos.

<h3>Eagles announce move to Melbourne, Florida</h3>
November 28, 2020

Philadelphia, PA (AP) – On the eve of Philadelphia’s divisional playoff game against the New York Giants, Eagles <b>GM Donovan McNabb</b> announced that the team is moving to Melbourne, Florida, next season. “I wish we could have kept the team here in Philly,” said McNabb, “but the stadium deal we got in Melbourne was too good to pass up.”

<b>Anthony Angelino</b>, the leader of the investment group that led the effort to bring NFL football to Melbourne, said he was confident when construction of the new stadium began five years ago that some NFL team wouldn’t pass up the chance to move there. “It was a bit of a gamble, but we have a state of the art facility,” said Angelino of the $750 million structure that has 61,400 seats, including 125 luxury boxes. “The one million citizens of this town are willing to pay top dollar for NFL football,” he added, stating that seat prices will likely begin at $100 each.

Sources say Angelino, the President of New York-based BuildCo Enterprises, the largest construction company in the U.S., will receive a “significant” ownership interest in the Philadelphia Eagles for his work on bringing the team to Florida.

Melbourne, considered one of the trendiest cities in the U.S., is located on Florida’s east coast, about a three-hour drive north of Miami.

<h2>Colts trample Blizzards’ Super Bowl hopes, 28-17</h2>
December 14, 2020

Lincoln, Nebraska (Ticker) – Indianapolis <b>RB Vinny Whitfield</b> scored three touchdowns and Nebraska <b>QB Moran Sweeney</b> fumbled away any hope of a comeback in the game’s closing minutes as the Colts (11-6) shocked the Blizzards (12-4) by a score of 28-17 in the AFC Divisional Playoff.

“This was an incredible game for us,” said Whitfield, who finished the game with 106 yards on 22 carries. “To come into Lincoln, and play in 18-degree weather, in front of a hostile crowd like this, it shows the Colts have a lot of heart.”

Nebraska took a 7-0 lead after a 24-yard touchdown run by <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b> with 6:33 left in the first quarter. The Colts, however, galloped back as Vinny Whitfield ran for 72 yards and two touchdowns on the Colts’ next two possessions to give his team a 14-7 lead. Nebraska <b>K Sam Brewer</b> made a 42-yard field goal at end of the second quarter to make the score 14-10 at halftime.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Blizzards took a 17-14 lead with 13:02 remaining in the fourth after a 7-yard touchdown run by Jerome Sweeney. Unfortunately, the Colts marched down the field on their next possession to go ahead 21-17 on Whitfield’s third touchdown of the day with 7:45 remaining in regulation. Unbelievably, however, things got worse for Nebraska.

On the Blizzards’ first play from scrimmage following the Colts touchdown, <b>QB Moran Sweeney</b> fumbled the ball at the Nebraska 12 after being sacked by Indianapolis <b>DE Gerald Von Hagel</b>. Von Hagel picked up the ball and took it into the endzone to give his team a 28-17 lead.

On the Blizzards’ next drive, the team lost 3 yards before punting from the Nebraska 17 with 6:04 left in the game.

With 2:27 left in the game, Nebraska <b>QB Moran Sweeney</b> completed a 41-yard pass to <b>WR Vince Clinton</b> to give the Blizzards a first down at the Indianapolis 30. A dropped pass and three consecutive incompletions, however, gave the Colts both the ball and the victory.

The likely reason for the devastating loss can be traced to the Nebraska’s poor play on third down. The offense converted just three times in 11 chances on third down, while the Colts converted nine times in 15 opportunities.

In addition, Nebraska <b>T Steve Emerson</b>, who was responsible for only one sack in 14 starts this year, allowed four against the Colts, including the one that led to Moran Sweeney’s fumble in the fourth quarter. “This is a game I really want to forget,” said Emerson.

<h2>Kuwait's monarch killed in terrorist attack</h2>
<h3>Crown Prince calls for impeachment of U.N. Secretary General</h3>
December 21, 2020

Kuwait City, Kuwait (Reuters) - Kuwait's <b>Crown Prince Jamir Al Sabah</b> announced that his father <b>Saaed Al Sabah</b>, the King of Kuwait, was killed today in a terrorist attack. The Prince explained his father was traveling to a meeting with U.S. military officials when a suicide bomber approached the King's limousine and detonated explosives strapped to his body. The blast, which could be heard for miles, killed the King, his chauffer, and three body guards.

"I have no more patience with the U.N. If the Secretary General had authorized more peace keepers in this region, perhaps my father would still be alive," said the Prince, who serves as Kuwait's delegate to the United Nations. "This incompetence must end before more lives are lost." He concluded: "Consequently, I will bring a motion to impeach the Secretary General tommorrow."

<b>U.N. Secretary General Jean-Paul Petain</b> expressed sorrow for the loss of Kuwait's reigning monarch, but declined to address Al Sabah's comments regarding impeachment.

The Crown Prince will officially succeed his father as the King of Kuwait following a brief coronation ceremony this afternoon.

<h3>Arizona’s Bo Christian wins NFL MVP award</h3>
December 23, 2020

Phoenix, AZ (Ticker) – Arizona <b>QB Bo Christian</b> won the 2020 NFL MVP award, the league announced today. Christian, a eight-year veteran who was selected in the second round out of North Dakota in 2015, led the league in passing yards (4,070), touchdown passes (26), and quarterback rating (98.6). He threw only eight interceptions on the year.

Nebraska <b>RB Jerome Sweeney</b>, who set an AFC record with 22 rushing touchdowns and was considered the favorite for the award, was gracious after hearing the news. “Bo is a great competitor and he put up some seriously good numbers this year,” Sweeney said from his home in Palo Alto, California.

<h2>U.N. Secretary General removed from office</h2>
<h3>Kuwait's new monarch elected to post</h3>
December 29, 2020

Geneva, Switzerland - The United Nations announced today that <b>Secretary General Jean-Paul Petain</b> was removed from office by a general vote of the assembly. Petain had fallen under extreme criticism lately for his handling of peace keepers in the Middle East. "Everyone was fed up with him," said U.S. delegate to the U.N. <b>Corbin Winston</b>. "It's a total disaster down there."

Immediately after Petain's removal, Kuwait's new monarch, <b>King Jamir Al Sabah</b> was elected to replace the disgraced Secretary General from France. "My goal is to eliminate all terror groups in the Middle East," said Al Sabah, who initiated Petain's impeachment proceedings after his father <b>King Saaed Al Sabah</b> was killed by a suicide bomber. "I shall do what Mr. Petain refused to do-
bring security to my homeland and the homelands of all Arab people."
