Not sure why I never noticed this, but I always assumed that percent developed meant an overall 50 scouted player that was 50% developed would be more or less 25/50 when drafted.

This is apparently not the case. Does anyone know the real correllation between these numbers? I drafted a WR with 28% development and his scouted rating is 25/57 (44%). My scout is average for young talent and VG for receivers. Does this mean my scout is not "seeing" him correctly or does he have more upside (or downside) potential?

I always thought % developed really had nothing to do with thier ratings and was more about how well they knew the position they were at.

If a player comes out post draft 25/50 and your scout says he is 50% developed, I feel he is scouted as is.
If he is 25/50 and the scout says he is 25% developed I believe he is underrated. He is really a 25/100
If he is 25/50 and scout says 75% developed, he is overrated. He is really a 25/30 or there abouts.
My thinking is the 2nd number is invisible. And the percentage tells you how high or low a player will develop.
Make sense?

I'm with Tormaz. I always thought the % developed was referencing your positional development.

I think I figured it out when I asked the same question. Still makes sense to me.

Thats partially the deal, but not 100%. Some of the ratings DONT develope, so a 25/50 whos 25% developed isnt necessarily a 100 guy. For an offensive lineman, for example, I dont think "blocking strength" ever changes.
