Neteller has FINALLY released the hold on all of our money!

The NETELLER Plc Group has announced that the distribution of funds to its US members will begin on July 30, 2007.

You are receiving this e-mail because our records reflect that you are a US member who may request funds from NETELLER. As of July 30, you will be able to make a request for funds on NETELLER’s website by signing in to your account. In the meantime, you should visit our online FAQs for more information about the distribution plan.

Please note that US members will not be able to request funds from the NETELLER website after January 26, 2008.

How long have they had this money 'held'?

I just logged on with no problems and requested my cashout.

I forget when this started Marc, right around Jan 1, wasn't it? Or perhaps it was before then?

Did they give you interest during the period it was 'held'? .... surely its illegal for anyone outside of the goverment/police to simply withhold money from someone?

I was being serious - so in America if I setup a company indicating that you could transfer money around using it and then simply pooled the money - kept it in a high interest account and gave the original amounts back to the 'suckers' involved thats legal?

I thought this was a thread announcing a divorce/breakup or something of the sort.

I know you were and I wasn't trying to mock you. The netteller saga has been well publicized but basicly there was no one governing them so they did what they want.

Frankly I am amazed people are getting their money back at all.

Well, Neteller isn't a US company...they're UK-based. And besides, it wasn't exactly their idea to hold the money ... the US Justice Department froze all the accounts of US customers as part of an ongoing investigation (related to the UIGEA from last fall).

That they're releasing the funds now is part of an agreement between NT and the US government.

On a happy note, after getting my e-mail this morning, I found $7 and change in there I didn't know I had. :)

That thread title is such the perfect set up. I wonder if the obvious joke will follow through.

I discovered I had exactly $2 tied up there. I knew it wasn't much but I thought it was more than that. Just as well, I suppose.
