Hey guys, new to the game, new to the boards.

I've been an OOTP player for eight years, played Bowl Bound, but want to take the jump to an NFL sim (haven't played one since the old Sierra series). I guess I have a couple quick newbie questions:

1- On-line play, is it done with game plans or do you actually have to play head-to-head? I browsed the on-line league forum some, are leagues pretty easy to come by?

2- How does the learning curve compare to something like OOTP? Is this a pretty easy system to get the hang of?

3- While I typically enjoy fictional leagues more, I think it might cut down my learning curve some with real rosters. Is there a roster set out there that is for this year BUT pre-draft (but with real players available in the draft)? I hope that last one made sense.

Thanks in advance,

Brad

1. on-line play is done via gameplans. leagues are always easy to come by, some league more than others. there's always someone dropping out of a league in most cases, so you just gotta keep an eye on that multi-player forum. most established league prefer to fill their opening with people who write articles and participate in their leagues as "fans" or "vultures".

2. the game can be very hard, and even people who have played it for some time still are learning things about it. but you can allow the AI to handle as much or as little of the team as you want. i'm a FOF vet and in a league and i let the AI set my gameplan for me.

3. there is a roster set already out, you just need to check the reference thread stickied in this forum to get all the various "add-ons" and user-created files.
