If you guys would not mind letting me know what cities are able to watch this game on ESPN 2 I would be grateful. I am so fustrated living here in Las Vegas and being black out of games of both L.A teams, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, and Arizona. I do have the extra innings package and basically do not get any games after 6 pm. Tonight has to be the biggest kick in the nuts because of the history that could be made (no matter how you feel about the man). I am fed up and since I am Mr. Mom I have time to call people until changes are made. Thanks for letting me vent.

Well, ESPN is cutting away to every Bonds at-bat...so if that's the part you want to see, they've got you covered.

Who's your service provider? Are you seeing a different game, or just nothing?

Cox cable and they say it's the network, and the network said it is the team. They are showing ESPN News.

We got it in ESPN2, ESPN2 HD, and KCAL 9. I'm in LA County, for what that's worth. So that's kind of weird.

I've been there. If Tony Bennett left his heart there, he's Satan, is all I have to say.

It sounds like Cox cable needs to call ESPN & get them to "fix" their blackout coverage for your area. ESPNews is what they run when they have a true "blackout" switch for your local market, and no alternate game to show in it's place. EDIT: If by network, you mean ESPN, the rep you spoke to must not understand how that works, and that it is an error with "Cox Vegas". "Teams" dont send weekly letters telling ESPN NOT to broadcast in certain areas...it's a simple matter of broadcaster priority...and local(CBS, NBC, etc.) takes priority over national(ESPN, etc.).
I have seen ESPN have similar issues like this in the past, which they always chalk up to "database corruptions". The "problem" is definitely ESPN...unfortunately if your local Cox system doesnt understand how that works, its doubtful ESPN will know they have an issue & fix it(I've never seen this happen on its own).
It might still be in your interest to call & complain to Cox again, and explain to them that ESPN blackouts happen because the game ESPN is broadcasting is also shown on a local broadcast affiliate's network(regardless of "special" packages like MLB Extra Innings, etc.). Since you're nowhere near the LA broadcast DMA, I'd have a hard time believing your local affiliate had the game on. Cox may tell you that "they" arent the problem...but if "they" dont report the problem to ESPN, the problem doesnt get addressed on it's own. If they followup, hopefully next time you wont hosed on something like this.
Hope that helps.
