When you do the Isle Of Misfit Toys rules, do you use any other House Rules, or are the no-drafting rules enough?

I generally find that the no drafting, no free agents rule is enough to make it challenging -- no need to add anything beyond that regarding contracts, etc. The downside of the concept is generally not the difficulty, but rather the sense of "accomplishment" that is sort of missing when you feel like much of your success is owed to the happenstance of stumbling across a quality player (usually a creeper) at certain key positions.

Oh, I should mention that another issue I tend to get frustrated with is the lack of a middle ground between staff-set depth charts and manually-set ones.

For my first few years, I generally don't much care who is starting -- so I'm okay turning that over to the staff. But after a few years, when I have marginal but developed players as starters in many spots -- I'd much prefer to see my creeper rookie rated 12/19 get playing time ahead of a fourth-year confirmed nothing who is 18/18. Rather than cut the veteran, I'd like to be able to manually lock in a few youngsters this way -- but alas, as is much discussed, it's all or nothing. Either you totally abdicate this job to the staff, or you're forced to go meddling with page after page of changes every time a guy here or there gets sufficiently injured. Especially after a few really quick years of not caring - that gets to be a nuisance (and a real drag on your pace).

You may have more taste for micromanaging than I do -- but personally, one of the real attractions to the IMT concept is the ability to play very rapidly, and see some of those young players at my own pace.

Hmmm...that roster thin may be a holdup for me. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to do it yet. I'm still having fun with my posted Dynasty, and because of the crazy salary my QB requested, I'm going to run up against the cap this year, for the first time. If I do it, I'll probably start with the same team, and just cut all drafted players.
