Sabbatini had called out the world's No. 1 player earlier this year at the Wachovia, saying he wanted Woods to be in the final group with him. Woods went on to shoot a 69 and win the tournament, while Sabbatini had a 74.

Sabbatini, who lost the lead with a bogey at the fourth hole while Woods was making birdie, faded to a 74 and a tie for second at 280 with Justin Rose, who closed with a 68. Sabbatini even had a run-in with a spectator who, as Sabbatini left the ninth green, said to him, "Hey, Rory. Still think Tiger's beatable?" Sabbatini had police officers escort the fan off the course.

If you can't handle people talking shit to you, don't start it.

Wait - what? The guy doesn't swear, doesn't insult Sabbatini - he simply calls him out on his statement, and Sabbatini has him ejected from the gallery? Jeebus, what a pussy...

Good thing Monty never used that tactic, otherwise the gallery would be empty.

How insanely stupid do you have to be to trash talk tiger woods? "He looks as beatable as ever to me" ... nice job, buddy!

At the US Open this year my uncle made a comment to me about Rory's pants since they were lime green. Rory heard then turned to my uncle and I and said "Fuck you assholes". We got a nice chuckle out of it.

Sounds like quite a guy.

(Rory, not your uncle).

I was thrilled to see him implode yesterday. "Beatable as ever" and then you go out and lose to him by 9 strokes on the day. Heh.

That's funny. Even though I also like the Seahawks it's kind of like Hasselback's comments in the playoffs a couple years ago ("We want the ball and we're going to win the game" followed by him throwing an interception, first play I believe, returned for the winning touchdown). But he didn;t have anyone kicked out of the statium for comments after that (at least htat I know of :) ).

I was close, but it was funny (more so if I didn't like the Seahawks).

But Hasselback just sounded like a kid who was excited. Sabbatini is just a jealous guy who doesn't have the game to bring it. And then when everyone asked him about it, he tried to ask as if he motivated the best in Tiger. Yeah right. If Tiger needed guys like Sabbatini to motivate him, he'd be nothing more than a middle of the road player his whole career.

He's the only guy on tour who plays each week like he's in it, no matter what the score is.

This was pathetic. Sabbatini has rabbit ears, which is never good for a golfer.

Ultimately, I think Rory is right -- Tiger is beatable. Just not by him.

To his credit, Hasselbeck doesn't let jibes about that statement get to him. Going on to play in a Super Bowl probably brings some solace to him. Sabbatini could learn something from that.

I'm praying that there will be a group following him this weekend slow chanting "Rory", the same way Dodger fans chant "Barry". That would be awesome to see him try to have hundreds of folks removed.

I loved that. I loved Rory saying Tiger was beatable. There is nothing wrong with confidence sliding to ego on occasion.

At least Hasselbeck faced up to it after the game and dealt with the fact he'd maybe went a little far. Rory kicks out a fan for asking him about a quote he made?

There was nothing wrong with what Rory said about Tiger. The general public and media were wrong to think he was wrong. All I have to hear about from media and morons alike is that the other members of the PGA Tour are "afraid of Tiger" somehow and that he dominates them mentally. Frankly that's a bunch of bullshit and Sabbatini's comments threatened the fantasy that so many fans and journalists like to live in. Tiger Woods does not scare other players. He is simply better than they are. If Tiger Woods scared other players and dominated them mentally then he would have been able to post a come-from-behind victory in a major at some point in his career. Which, as of today, he has not.

Now, Sabbatini's having the guy kicked out is jackassery at its finest. Douchebaggery, even.

One of the things that players themselves will mention when being paired in a final round with Tiger is the size of the gallery. I don't think Tiger himself gets to players, but its certainly possible that the atmosphere around him when he plays does.

If you go back and look at scores of players paired with Tiger in the final pairing of an event, you'll see that historically they've scored pretty poorly. Thats changed over the past couple years however, and thats probably a combination of the players being better now and a lot of guys getting used to that atmosphere around Tiger.

There was nothing wrong with what Rory said, but I would expect that if people felt that way somebody other then a player with what, four career wins, would have the balls to do it.

I don't have a problem with what Rory said about Tiger. Despite my hatred of slow play, however, I have a major problem with how he handled the Ben Crane incident at Congressional (?) a year or two ago. He'll always be a jerk for that.
