Yep - I think next year It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back by Public Enemy will be 20 years old.
To put it in perspective, 15 years ago when The Chronic came out, it was 15 years prior that these albums came out:
The soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever
Exodus by Bob Marley
Rumors by Fleetwood Mac
The Clash, their first album
A Farewell to Kings by Rush
and Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols
That's right, the amount of time between Saturday Night Fever and The Chronic is the same as between The Chronic and right now. :(

I was in college when this came out. I remember my roommate used to listen to this because some people called him an oreo.

I don't know how many drive-bys I did while listening to that album.

I'm only going to say this once -- shut up. Stop typing. Just stop. STOP!

15-years young.
I have to admit that I do not listen to a lot of rap, but the Chronic is still one of my all-time favorite CD's to have around.
biatch!

As if I need anything other than being awake to make me feel old.
I have no idea what this even is, let alone when it came out.

Ah man, now I do feel old. Damn, I remember working on my TransAm and listening to this stuff.

It's been more than 20 years since Licensed to Ill
Edit: then again, it sounds like it.

You've been living under a rock man.

Oh I'm plenty old enough. That just isn't exactly the circle I run with there. I mean, I am 31 years old, not 12.

I saw the thread title, and then I actually opened the thread. Thank God. I was afraid that this was gonna be about some Dallas shit.

That's always a concern of mine. :D
And I second whoever said it, 15 years seems less then I would have thought.

Uh....That California Luv vid makes me feel like a giddy little kid every time I watch it. "In LA we wear Chucks, not Ballys". The 2pac verse is legendary. God, I wish rap could still be this epic. The closest thing we have now is Kanye West, and he's just an undercover nerd.

To me, rap died when this album came out. "Native Tongue" stuff was the pinnacle, and then this happened, and the vast majority of rap has sucked ever since.
