Holy crap this is gonna be an awesome game!!!

Your character is played by Chow Yun Fat, and is in a "movie" from John Woo. It is a straight shoot-em up, but boy is it fun! You can slow down time, ala Max Payne, and dodge bullets. You can also pull off some impressive kills by sliding down, across and over things. There is a zoom kill mode, where you can pinpoint where you want a bullet to go, and the camera follows the bullet all the way to the victim. The shots are gruesome, but some are hilarious.

Check it out, the demo is up on Marketplace.

I just saw a banner ad at the top of the page for this game. :)

Glad it's getting positive buzz. Played it a bit on Friday, and it's certainly big-time action shooter with some very interesting updates on the Max Payne time-slowing mechanics. Midway is making some big bets with this console generation, and Stranglehold is the first of them.

Very fun demo, I'll probably rent the game at some point, as I bet it's a short game.

I think the game had originally been planned for release this week, but it looks like it's been pushed back to next week. That's disappointing to me, because I've been looking forward to playing it. I haven't even tried the demo, but I'm excited about it.

I guess my purchase for this week will be Stuntman: Ignition. Next week is WOO TIME!

Anyone picked this up yet? I rented it last night, but haven't had a chance to get time in on it. Looking forward to it, as the demo was really fun. Seems like it was reviewed pretty favorably as well.

I got it. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but it seems to make me a little dizzy (I'm sensitive to this type of game). I can only play it in half-hour stints or so. Anyway, I'm still very early in the game. The action is so fast-paced that I feel pretty overwhelmed at times. I almost seem to shoot blindly and just hope that I hit the bad guys. Still, it's great to do the really impressive kills. So far, the only weapons I've found are pistols and shotguns. I hope that there are some other weapons later on in the game.

Anyway, the bottom line is that I like the game a lot.

According to VGChartz (http://www.vgchartz.com/aweekly.php) Stranglehold was the #1 seller in its first week of sales, good news for Midway.

The demo was fun, but for me.. it got boring doing the same thing over and over.

Made it through the first level. It's a fun enough game, but I couldn't see actually paying full price for it. It ends up getting very repetitive, and even when you get cooler guns, it just gets rediculously hard.
