Has anyone else seen this HBO documentary about the Brooklyn Dodgers? I'm a Giants fan and bay resident, so this is supposed to be taboo viewing in my parts but I found it quite engrossing. Obivously, the parts relating to Jackie Robinson were both inspiring and emotional, but the part that floored me was that they actually had me feeling sympathy about Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round The World". I guess it being rather ancient history, and me dealing with many similar traumas as a modern day Gigantes fan, allowed that.

I watched it a week or so ago. Very good show.

I'd never heard the story behind why the Dodgers and Giants moved out west, so that part intrigued me almost as much as the part about Jackie Robinson.

Karl, honestly, every Bay Area Giant fan ought to be at least a little bit grateful to the Dodgers. If not for Walter O'Malley convincing the Giants to move West, you guys would all be A's fans. ;)

Yeah, I kind of knew the general story but hadn't seen anything that detailed before. Really interesting -- I think the first time I've seen O'Malley depicted as something other than the devil.
