I was sent to Houston to help pull documents for our a client of ours, a big oil company, for a merger review. We needed some extra paralegal support so they brought a few in from the New York office.

A large group of us spent about 3 weeks at the client's offices in Houston interviewing employees, pulling documents, etc. I hit it off quite well with the paralegal brought in from New York. She came down to D.C. each weekend and then I headed to Brussels. Another horror story happened during the Christmas party at the place I worked at, at that time. One of the women, we will call her Twinkles, was a bit of a party girl but very nice. She was also about 300 lbs.

Not really. I think it was more awkward for our co-workers who were out with us. We finished the night at Buffalo Billiards (well, the two of us didn't finish there) and she was kinda all over me when we were shooting pool, which brought some interesting looks from the rest of the group. The tremendous amount of liquor probably helped though.

Just saw this for the first time today. At the elementary school I work at, I could have a harem of soccer moms.

Just a few of the highlights:
I've received a coupon for a NSA BJ, had another teacher hiding under my desk during my lunch break and received various self photos.


In a completely unrelated, yet slightly related note, last my class had to pick an animal and then study its habitat, evolution, etc. One of my kids stood up to do his oral presentation by saying, "I'm an expert on beavers." I spit my soda out all over my table.

Never tried that either. When I need to go longer I have switched my thoughts to fantasy football and baseball and one time started doing long division in my head, but I have never thought about FOFC.

Edit to add: She did put up with dating me for 1 year of college, 2 years of medical school, and she helped support us for my last 2 years of medical school and my internship/residency when I was still relatively poor :)

Yeah, so a couple of weeks ago my sister and brother-in-law were busy, so I was watching my nieces for the morning. The seven year old had a soccer game, so the five year old and I were in the stands with the soccer parents watching the game. All of a sudden, the five year old started talking about a picture she had drawn that she was very proud of, a picture of a beaver. And then, in what seemed to me at the time must have been her loudest voice, she said, "Jeebie, will you come home with me so I can show you my beaver?!?"

It was all I could do to keep myself from busting out laughing...and that was only because I didn't want her asking me what was so funny.

I was similar to that, but different as well. My wife is the doctor and I supported her when she was poor. Now she's the bread winner. However, I can't see where the reward is for her as she's the one that supports us now and I'm the one who married up. I've decided not to question her logic. :)

Last week my office hosted our district's potential hires for the fall recruiting period. Basically they come in for a day of taking second/third interviews, some tests, take a tour around and get to meet people, etc. I served as one of the tour guides because it's basically a week off of work, as we just have to make sure everyone is in the right places at the right times, and sit around bullshitting the rest of the day. They like having the younger people doing this so they feel more comfortable asking questions and getting the experience of what we went through when we came on recently. We have no involvement in any of the hiring decisions, and they know this so they can feel like they really can talk to us about anything.

So I'm at a bar last night and this girl keeps glancing over at me. I thought she looked a little familiar -- turns out she was one of our candidates on Friday and recognized me from walking around. She was definitely interested as she wouldn't leave my side the rest of the night, and she's cute. I ended up getting her number but I'm having second thoughts on whether this is the best thing to do. I mean, if I hook up with this chick and two weeks from now she isn't hired, I can see some potential problems sprouting up.

Any thoughts, outside of just waiting the two weeks to see if she gets hired before I make a move? I have a penis so that won't be possible -- I think I could make it until Thursday.

She said she thought the knowledge test (basic finance, econ, accounting principles) was pretty hard, and if you don't pass it, you're pretty much knocked out. I've taken the test...she's either one of those girls who always thinks she did shitty and then ends up with a 97%, or she's a moron.
