I have a gaping hole on my roster at left tackle. My back-up right tackle is 42/42. If I want to use him at left tackle, should I change his position or just play him there? His experience at LT is lime green, and his ratings would drop to like 24/40.

I would look to try and sign a veteran guy who despite low ratings (38/38 - just a guess as to what's out there) could potentially have a decent season. I think he would perform better than this guy, either by just playing him out of position or making the switch.

I've already signed the 38/38 guy and drafted a late-round rookie (it was a weak draft for tackles). Everyone is getting a chance to win the job.

My rule of thumb: I only position switch if it will be a permanent thing. Otherwise, I play them out of position.
