You probably use that cheap breakaway move.
Wrap-arounds were great too.

No, StarBuck already tried in the Stalls thread and I would have none of the cornhole action.

Oh, sure you do.

Go into a stall and tap your foot next to a guy, then put your hand under the divider.

This is the internationally recognized sign for "I use the cheap breakaway move in NHL 93 and 94"

And then you whip out your Genesis or SNES and have a game right there, in the washroom.

Refresh, what is the cheap breakaway move again? I remember in the original NHL Hockey you could literally drive the goalie into the net and not actually have to shoot the puck. The "shove in" was banned when we played.
Also, I remember the so called "wraparound" (if you can really call it that) where you come out from the corner and cut across the front of the goal. Also banned. But I can't recall the cheap breakaway one.

I believe EA actually named the cheap goals on cards included with '95. The one you refer to as the "wraparound" is actually the "Brook", and there is also the "Reverse Brook" which is done on the backhand.

The breakaway move was when you would come in at a slight angle on the backhand, then switch to the forehand right as you got to the goalie and shoot into the open net. Once you knew how to do it, it worked every single time.
Anyone who was serious about the game would ban it from two-player games, but there was also some dickhead who would "accidentally" do it at the end of a close game.

See, banning those moves is just the wrong answer. Learn how to defend it. Once you know a guy is going to try the Brook every time, you start to position yourself accordingly to prevent it from ever occurring. Then he has to adjust to that and start trying to find another way to score.

Mateo, you are SO money.
Mateo: I wish they still had fights in this game so I could bitch-slap Wayne.
StarBuck: What? They don't have fighting anymore?
Mateo: Doesn't that suck?
StarBuck: Why'd they get rid of the fighting? It was the best part of the old version.
HeyBrad: I think kids were hittin' each other or somethin', man.
Mateo: Yeah but you know what, StarBuck? You can make their heads bleed in this one.
StarBuck: Make somebody's head bleed.
HeyBrad: No man, we're in the playoffs.
Mateo: I'm gonna make Wayne Gretzky's head bleed for super-fan #99 over here.

Actually all you had to do was play where you were allowed to take control of the goalies. Then you have Patrick Roy knock the breakawayee on his ass.
Isn't that right Mateo?

This has always bothered me about Swingers... they talk about how you can't fight anymore, but you can still make their heads bleed. But I could swear that EA took fighting and the heads bleeding out of the game at the same time, in NHL 94. Am I remembering it wrong, or did the movie just take some dramatic license?

Yeah, I always thought bleeding heads and fighting were both NHLPA '93 and both got lifted for NHL '94, with fighting finally returning in NHL '96. That's always bugged me as well.
BTW, anyone know of a good Genesis emulator? It would be easier than digging around the basement for my actual system.

Pele Eklund > rest. I would have him bring the puck up and pass to Dave Brown(worst rated player in game and the first jersey i ever owned) for the one timer goal. Is it possible to play this online somehow that would be classic.
