trade advice

I need some advice from some more experienced owners.

I’m in a multi league with the first overall pick.

The league has a drought of quality QB’s
<o:p> </o:p>
My QB is a 47/65, and is going into his third starting season with a QB rating of 66
<o:p> </o:p>
The best player in the draft is grated 7.5 with an amazing scouting report. His Qb style is long passes. Volatility 43, position drill 86, development 18.

Now it would be a no brainer to draft this kid but I was made a great offer.

Room under the cap is 13
Max for new payer is 4
<o:p> </o:p>
I was offered for my first rough pick a teams entire draft this year (12<SUP>th</SUP> pick in first round) Plus his first round pick the next two seasons.

My question is does the QB and cap issues out weigh all those draft picks?

What would you do?

If you weren't going to take the QB, then i'd say it's worth considering.

I mean, you're getting 9 picks for one?

I'd probably have to counter with something like the opposing teams #1/2 for the next 3 years, as that is more in line from dropping from 1 to 12.

Another thought would be to trade your incumbent QB, and just draft the stud.

How is the rest of your team looking? If you can contend now for a division title I might not trade away the qb you have now. If you go with the stud rookie chances are even though he is great there are going to be a few seasons of hardships with a rookie at the wheel.

Yeah if it were me, and my team needed a QB, and the one who looks good but isn't getting it done, I'd just go ahead and draft the super QB and trade the other QB (possibly to the same team that maded the offer for another pick...you might be able to get a 3rd or 4th rounder) away.

----side note: English language skills suddenly becming very poor; Sad considering English is my native language. q=P

My team is in bad shape so its going to be a few years till we come together. But right now you guys seem to be telling me the stud QB maybe worth more then 3 first round picks (all of them probably around mid-round but who knows)

I would take the picks. It allows you to take a chance on guys that normally might be on the edge. I would probably try to get his first 2-3 picks for the next 3 years rather than the 4-7s this year.

Look at your current QB and decide if he will be good enough once other talent develops around him.

take the draft picks in a heartbeat and snicker.

id take the draft picks, but then again i have a hard-on for 1st rounders. so when i get offered them i cant say no
