Set ours up yesterday. Biggest Loser, Prison Break, Lost, Survivor, The Office, My Name is Earl, Kid Nation, Kitchen Nightmares, and Man vs. Wild are on my DVR set to record. I'm not trying many new shows this year vs. Studio 60, 30 Rock, etc. last year.

FYI for those with On Demand, NBC has their pilots available now. Journeyman, Bionic Woman, Life and Chuck.

I have only watched Journeyman so far, its OK, but I hope it improves some.

Of the continuing shows: How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, The Office, Scrubs, Friday Night Lights, House, Bones, Tell Me You Love Me (which I guess is new as well... but a summer show going into the fall), BattleStar Galactica

Of the new shows: Journeyman (NBC), Reaper (CW), Aliens in America (CW), [maybe] Dirty Sexy Money (ABC), New Amsterdam (Fox), Big Shots (ABC), Life (NBC), Chuck (NBC)

And I'll have to check out Kid Nation (CBS) and Cane (CBS) to see if I want to record it.

Of course, of the new shows, they'll be whittled down after the first three or so weeks to 3 or 4.

Actually, Chuck looks decent enough to try.

I forgot about New Amsterdam. We'll be giving that a shot.

Well you have new shows and old shows that get canceled... I imagine a bit of cleaning before the fall season starts is wise ;).

Nothing for me, but I think the wife is keeping The People's Court and Cheaters on there.

Didn't see anyone mention that there's a new season of Beauty and the Geek starting this week. Love that show.

I don't think we'll be recording anything new really...

Monday: Heroes

Tuesday: House (this is a maybe, Lady H_B declared after the end of last season she was no longer enjoying it)

Wedneday: Bones, Lost (when it returns in January)

Thursday: The Office, Earl, and I think I'll add "30 Rock"

Sunday: The Simpsons

For me, the beginning of the fall list looks like the DVR is set for:

Sunday: Desperate Housewives (wife's show), Brothers & Sisters (wife's show), Shark
Monday: Chuck, Heroes, Journeyman, CSI: Miami (wife's show)
Tuesday: House, Law & Order SVU
Wednesday: Kid Nation, Criminal Minds, Kitchen Nightmares, Dirty Sexy Money
Thursday: Ugly Betty (wife's show), Survivor, Grey's Anatomy (wife's show), Scrubs, ER, Law & Order CI
Friday: <nothing>

By far Thursday was the busiest DVR night for us. Thats the night I usually go out and its her "girl show" night. We also wanted to add two more shows that night (CSI and Don't forget the lyrics) but couldn't fit it into the DVR schedule.

Obviously some of the stuff will go if we end up not liking the show, but does anyone know where the original Law and Order went? I don't see it on the fall schedule anywhere.

It comes back on Sunday after the NFL season is over.

Well, she may enjoy it again with the change up in the supporting cast (ie, the doctors under House). Have to see what kind of dynamic that will lead to.

I'm still not convinced that the doctors will really change for the long haul, but the first few weeks should be very interesting, regardless.

I was really impressed with the pilot for Chuck... it's definitely on my "must watch" list.

So I'm DVR'ing Chuck, House, The Office, Californication, and Weeds right now.

Nothing for me, but I think the wife is keeping The People's Court and Cheaters on there.

I wonder if we're married to the same woman. I check the DVR to watch a football game from last week, and instead i find multiple episodes of judge joe brown, peoples court, judge judy, etc. There's no point in me even setting a season record for something, as if I don't watch it right away, it'll get written over.

I won't be starting any new shows this year. If I hear really good things about a show after the first season, I'll try to watch it and add it in for next year.

I'll be continuing with Entourage, Heroes, Prison Break, Scrubs, The Office, My Name is Earl, and Desperate Housewives.

Better than what? Or since when? A couple of my friends have mentioned a huge dropoff in the quality of episodes, but it seems basically the same to me from day 1.

It's completely impossible to describe. Best I could come up with is a cross between "The Office" and "Alias". There are some definite "must suspend reality" moments, but overall was very impressed.

My wife will probably DVR "Journeyman", since it's got the fella from "Rome" in it. I watched the pilot for "Life" as well and really wanted to like it, because the guy who played Dick Winters in "Band of Brothers" is the star, but it just came off like a cop version of "House" to me.

I thought it had some moments similar to "The Office" as well. It is the best of NBC's new shows.

I really wanted to like Bionic Woman and I will watch at least another episode. But I was disappointed. I had high expectations because of all the BSG connections but felt the plot fell flat. Supposedly they have already suspended production after 6 episodes. It isn't a great sign if that has happened although some shows have come back after production was suspended(Grey's Anatomy for one).

I thought Life was a complete bust.
