From profootballtalk.com. Talk about classless. I think the last paragraph is probably right. I think a 2nd rounder penalty is about right.:)
BILLICK SAYS JETS USED ILLEGAL PLOY by Michael David Smith
Ravens coach Brian Billick is accusing the Jets of using an illegal ploy to draw false start penalties on the Ravens' offensive linemen during Sunday's game.
According to Billick, the Jets' defense shouted out signals to throw off the Baltimore offense, and the result was three illegal procedure penalties against the Ravens.
"They did an outstanding job. I credit the New York Jets. Their defensive line and linebackers did a very, very effective job of illegally simulating the snap count," Billick said. "They did it the whole game long. It needs to be caught."
. . . . .
Billick's complaint against the Jets could represent the coaching fraternity's first piece of retribution against Jets coach Eric Mangini for the role the Jets played in turning in the Patriots for illegally taping the Jets' defensive signals. Billick may want to spread the word that in his view, Mangini isn't exactly a model coaching citizen, either.

I had never even heard of this until I saw it called against USC this past weekend.

I think the defense should be able to do this. The quarterback is allowed to use signals to draw the defense offside; make sure the OL learns the sound of their QBs voice.

I think I just realized why the Chiefs are 0-2. We obviously don't cheat as well as the other teams.

Ugh. So, we're going to get a "X team cheated!" claim every week? This is going to be fun.

It's only because there are so many X team haters out there.

As long as the sports media is going to be speculating 24/7 about whether this "taints" the Patriots' success, I don't think it's unreasonable to point out how retarded that is.
But this really is a more tongue-in-cheek thread, about the old, grumpy coaches annoyed with the young punk coach.

This shit was going on in the XFL, too. I was a big Memphis Maniax fan, and people were obviously stealing signals. Rashaam Salaam couldn't do much out there on the field. I was shocked that the Maniax managed a 5-5 record, as I'm sure that some serious cheating was going on when they played San Francisco and Las Vegas, in particular.
This reminds me about a letter that I had planned to write five years ago. I'd better get started on that.

The Jets are 0-2 too, so maybe the Chiefs just cheat incompetently, like the Jets do?

Oh no! Don't you lump the Chiefs in with the Jets! We lost both games fair and square! The Jets obviously cheated to lose.

I just think it's funny that Mangini gets labeled a crybaby and now other coaches are going to start crying about him.

I think it's a good rule. False starts are one of the most damaging penalties for an offense. You get a loud stadium and a bunch of defensive guys yapping at the line, it can create chaos. If this were done frequently, it could cause a ton of problems for offenses and I'm not real thrilled as a fan about watching 12 false starts a game.
If the Jets did it, it should have been called.

This just screams of "boohoo, he tricked me"... I don't get it personally. You should know your QB's voice and what calls he should be making. If you don't, watch the damned ball.

All of a sudden, the Jets 0-2 start makes sense. The front seven players have been practising so much on their Tom Brady and Kyle Boller imitations, they simply forgot how to play defense.

If there are 2 more dickish head coaches than Brian Billick and Bill Belichick in the NFL today, I'd like to see them. Somehow, I don't think either one will be winning a sympathy vote at any point.
