Gameplanning ?

When the coach "recommends" your gameplan, against what does he base his numbers on? Is it the opposition's starting lineups from the previous game, or from the interim file, or what? Just curious, as a team could have his scrubs starting in the interim file, and a recommended gameplan against them would be very poor against the real starters. Or, in a more honest situation, if a big time player for the other team came off of injury, would he be accounted for in the gamplan?

I suppose letting the coach reset gameplan before each game would combat this, but then gameplanning is obsolete. Any insights?
