I recently started playing FOF2007 again after taking several months off, and I couldn't figure out how to try to renegotiate contracts with players on my team. I'm in Week 1 of the FA Period so I should be able to do so as I understand it.

So, what screen do I go to renegotiate? I went to the player's screen and I don't see a button that allows me to discuss a contract. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Renegotiate means "guys who already have contracts you want to extend". You cannot make offers during FA 1 to guys whose contracts have expired.

The button to do contracts is on the lower-left of the player report window.

Thanks gstelmack.

Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. I want to offer a contract to the players on my team whose contracts have expired. The only time to do so, exclusively, is the First Week of the FA Period. Is this correct?

You can't offer those players until Stage 2 as they are unrestricted free agents. You have to exten guys' contracts the previous season before their contract runs out. The exception is guys who are entering their 2nd-4th years in the league. Those players are restricted free agents and you can negotiate with them exclusively in early free agency.

Okay, that clarifies it for me. Thanks for helping me out!

FWIW, you can renegotiate contracts throughout the season as well.

FA Stage 1: Can re-negotiate contracts of players who are currently in a contract with your team, and you can offer new contracts to "restricted" free agents (players with 4 years of experience or less.)

FA Stage 2+: Now you can make offers to un-restricted free agents (players with 5 years of experience or more.) Also you can still re-negotiate contracts and sign restricted free agents. Your restricted free agents go un-restricted at the start of the 2nd free agency (after the draft).
