Have there been any changes to the HoF voting with the patch?

I'm playing a SP franchise and have a QB who had:
Won 3 Super Bowls
Won 3 Super Bowl MVPs
43k passing yards
287TD
158 Career Wins
Legend of the Game Award

And didn't make it to the HoF

Is it possible to get to the HoF after the first ballot (5 years)?

I don't know about the first ballot deal or not, but I've had 4 years of HOF voting in my latest league and there are 3 players in it.

I tend to just glance at the HOF and the Legend of the Game thing, because they don't mean that much to me. In a different league I had an MLB retire while he was #6 in tackles all-time and he never made it. I rationalized that he was involved in a gambling scandal.

Pretty sure in FOF it's a one shot deal, and IMO I think the Hall of Fame is a little too tough to get into.

I thought that it was perhaps too easy to get in there before. So unless you have stellar numbers now, you usually don't get in. Depending on the guy's career stats, he may have had a reason to get excluded. However, I doubt a 3 time super bowl MVP would not make the HOF IRL.


In my 40 some year career, it seems as if it's really easy for DE's to get in, but nearly impossible for LB's(1) and DB's(0) to get in.
Hell, there's a punter in the Hall, Sepulveda punted 19 years and somehow made it in.

He was the winning QB in all 3 of those Super Bowls (2012, 2013, 2017). He did not win MVP in either SB Loss (2011, 2014)

The year my QB (Chris Simms) was snubbed a CB went in. But he was also a super stud CB with 3 SB rings (was my CB on same team with Simms), 70 INTs w/ 6TDs, 187 Passes Def'd, 653 tackles, 12k KO Yards and 6 KO TDs

Also going in that same year was:
DE with 103 sacks and 1 ring
RB with 13k yards and 102 TDs, and no rings
Carson Palmer, 53k yards, 379TD, 132-80 record, and no rings
Phillip Rivers 47k, 295TD, 121-91 record, and 2 rings

Seems strange that Rivers would go in with comparable stats to Simms, but fewer rings, and a worse career record

Interesting. Made me do some research of my own:

Here's the breakdown in a 56 year league-
QB: 9
RB: 6
WR: 7
Offensive Linemen (5 pos.): 0
Special Teamers: 1, a punter
DE: 17
DT: 2
LB: 1 :confused:
Secondary (4 pos.): 0

56 years... only 9 QBs, 6 runningbacks, 6 receivers... this is a little low, is it not? No o-line... 1 linebacker... 0 secondary players.

I am a little glad I pay very small attention to the HOF because this is very depressing!
