Now that it seems pretty obvious that Norv Turner can not handle being the head coach of a NFL team, how long before AJ Smith saves some face and gives Norv the axe?

No option for "Norv is going to turn this thing around"? No option for "next season"? No option for "LDT is going to take matters into his own hands long before AJ Smith does"?

I think he was only going with realistic options.

He probably makes it to the end of the season, then "resigns."

Good suggestions that I didn't think of. I'll probably come out with a new poll at the mid-season mark.

As a life long Chargers fan, I am extremely disappointed to say the least. AJ Smith and Spanos are to blame really, in my opinion. After they lost to the Patriots in the playoffs, AJ should have had the coaching staff in his office and said, "What is it going to take to keep you guys here?" Just my opinion, plus I feel that if you have a group of players and staff that seem to win, you want to keep them together.

Oh well, never thought the Chargers would play so bad that they would make the Raiders look good.

Screw you. The Dolts have sucked far worse than the Raiders if you knew anything about NFL history. Ninny.

Wow, way too early for the panic button.

It is a little early for the panic button, but there's no excuse for this:

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=560 border=0><TBODY class=ysptblcontent1><TR class=ysprow1><TD vAlign=top noWrap>1st-5, KC5</TD><TD vAlign=top>4:03</TD><TD vAlign=top>P. Rivers incomplete pass to the right</TD></TR><TR class=ysprow2><TD vAlign=top noWrap>2nd-5, KC5</TD><TD vAlign=top>3:58</TD><TD vAlign=top>P. Rivers incomplete pass down the middle</TD></TR><TR class=ysprow1><TD vAlign=top noWrap>3rd-5, KC5</TD><TD vAlign=top>3:53</TD><TD vAlign=top>P. Rivers - 42 Passes
Tomlinson - 25 touches.

Norv could possibly turn this around, but only if he realizes how stupid this was.

I agree, there is no excuse for that. The Chargers look unprepared, to me, that's coaching. I think, not positive though, that 6 of the 25 Tomlinson touches were in the second half for 16 yards. Again, that's coaching. That absolutely amazes me that Norv would do that. It's like sitting A. Rod after the 5th inning.

Woohoo!! 500th post!

I'm talking about the current season.

I see the standings with the Raiders ahead of the Chargers, 2-2 to 1-3. The Raiders have scored more points and allowed fewer points than the Chargers.

Wow, way too early for the panic button.

With Norv Turner at the helm, it's never to early. The bright side is that they are still young and might be able to get some real talent with their draft pick. I'll never understand how being 25 games under .500 for your career qualifies you for a third chance.

I personally see the Chargers 1 game behind being tied for the division lead.

So then you are agreeing with my quote that the Chargers are making the Raiders look good?
