So I've had this laptop for about 1 1/2 years... it's a Gateway. When I first got it, without it being plugged in the battery had a life of about 3 hours.

As of today, I just unplugged it and I have 26 minutes (@ 99%).

That's ridiculous! Is there any way to improve the battery power?

Some laptops (Compaq's off the top of my head) have an option in BIOS to re-condition the battery.
