View Full Version : Reason #1 Why I'll Be Sure to Check the Forecast Before the Next Terps Game

....
Well, reasons number 1 and 2. And why I'll be washing the mirror in my bathroom, apparently, I didn't realize quite how gross it was until I saw it in these pictures...
When I left for the game this morning, it was cloudy and pretty gross/misty/foggy outside. I had no idea it'd be that hot nor that sunny. I also had no idea I'd be sitting where I was (I ended up sitting with a friend who has season tickets in the season ticket holder's section, not in the student section where I normally sit). Needless to say, I was in the direct sunlight for a major portion of the game. Now, I have some massive sunburn (only burned on my face, fortunately or unfortunately, but dang, is it bad looking), I look like a reverse raccoon:

And because of my sunglasses, I have lines on the side of my head, too:

I am an idiot.
Edited: I'm really an idiot. I don't know why it said "Reason #1 'While' I'll..." I fixed it.

That's nothing compared to the sunburn I got a couple weeks ago.

About what I looked like after that Sunday afternoon Braves game a couple of weeks ago. Amazingly, it faded pretty quickly instead of peeling (maybe the mondo dollops of aloe I applied that night helped?). Hopefully you'll get as lucky as I did.

Yeah.. as an irish boy that just really doesn't look bad at all to me. That's me after basically every football/baseball/whatever game when I DO protect myself..

I didn't allow anyone to take pictures. However when you're balding, getting a blistered sunburn on top of your head is rather disgusting.

OMG, that reminds me of a Drivers Ed teacher I had in high school. No one wanted him because he'd sit in the front and pick on his peeling bald head. I was unfortunate enough to have him and he'd pick the skin off and it'd fly all over the car.

I wouldn't have noticed anything about the mirror if you hadn't mentioned it. :)

(I think it's partly washed out by the compression on the images.)

Olympus SP-550?

I thought the forcast called for Maryland to have the worst graduation rate in division 1 college basketball?

I don't usually burn, so it definitely surprised me. But given that I was quite literally in direct sunlight for all but about 5 minutes of the game, I'm not surprised. I don't want skin cancer, though, I really should've looked and seen what the weather called for. I had sunscreen at home, just didn't think I'd need it.

I hope it evens out quickly, our customer is in the office all week at work.

Yep, that's the 550. Ah, my mistake, I should've said "weather forecast." :D That stat with a 0% graduation rate is very very sad. The truth of the matter is, though, for that time period, I can't think of who our seniors were/would have been. Steve Francis is the only one I can think of (and I know for sure he didn't graduate).

Three weeks ago I sat in completely different seats than I usually sit in at the Rutgers game. Very bright, hot day...and the sun was beating down on one side of my face. Which of course, led me to getting burnt just on that one side of my face. That was attractive.

Ugh - I feel for ya...

I sat in the bleachers at Candlestick a long time ago watching a Giants game, and it was 50-degrees and overcast the whole day...still, it didn't stop the massive sunburn. I woke up the next day stuck to my sheets where the blisters that formed had broken.

Does this mean you'll fall down if you try to run longer than 19 yards?

I wouldn't worry about the mirror... We are guys. We think about cleaning mirrors if our mothers are coming to visit or if a woman is coming over with the possibility of fornication.
