Sometimes players get excited when they see a 16/68 type of rookie right after the draft. However, many of those players are really rated much lower than their very early ratings. Other players give up on a rookie immediately who is only rated 18/25. However, with masking both of those players could end up very similar in ratings when they reach their "true potential." Skydog has made a very informative post to help give newer players to the series a clue as to which rookies are going to be useful and which aren't. Check out his "Unmasking 101" thread here:
