Found out earlier tonight that my oldest brother passed away today. I'd love to say that this was a surprise but, unfortunately he has been battling alcoholism for a number of years along with a heart condition so it was just a matter of time. The family tried to help him out but, in the end, just no helping someone that doesn't want to be helped. Cost him his money, family and in the end his life.

Anyone out there battling your own demons, get the help you need. It doesn't end well.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Mustang. My oldest brother passed away about 9 months ago, and his life story had some similarities to your brother's.

Funny thing is the one I feel the worst for is my daughter, being only 6 weeks old, never will get a chance to meet him.

Sadly, I have thought that many times about one of my brothers, also. Same situation, alcoholism.

Wow, Mustang, so sorry to hear this. :-/

My eldest brother is battling a decades old alcohol addiction as well. His health is poor and it's sad for us to watch him but he won't get help.

Your brother is at peace now from his demons and I wish your family the healing of your loss.
