View Full Version : Free Basketball MMORPG, let's join!
Hi guys, this is probably old but i discovered it today.
Cyberdunk is a free multiplayer RPG game where you play as a basketball player. First you must create your player, then you are drafted by a team worldwide and then you sign your rookie contract. Once in the team, you can train yourself, buy equipment to boost your attributes, set your strategies for the next game (intensity, if you want to shoot more from outside, inside etc).
There is a game played every day but you don't need to be present, you just login once per day to setup your training and strategies, and not even joining every day is needed if you are not making any change.
The fun thing is that the teams can be also ran by humans, they will buy you, sell you, tell you how you must train to be a starter etc. So it's like two games in one, as a player and/or as a team GM. To be a team GM I think that you need to pay some money or to have enough reward points, but i'm not totally sure about how does that work as i just created a free player.
If you are good, you can even play for your national team, if the human who runs it, decides to call you.
I created a power forward with good inside shooting, rebounds and blocking. I started to train rebounds and blocking and bought shoes and other stuff to raise my inside shooting and blocking. I have been drafted by a team in Italy's second division (you set in a numerical value the leagues that you would like to be drafted in, i had first Spain, second USA, third Italy and that way up to 50 countries or so, and an Italian team drafted me).
Tonight is my first game and i have already set my strategies (it all took 10 minutes).
I just also saw that you could write your player blog into the game, and for writing you are warded some kind of cybermoney that you can use to buy stuff for your player, no totally sure about how does this work.
Apart from the games and training, you can also play in 1vs 1 games vs other people, to earn cyber money, you can also bet your player cybermoney on other games too, all that to earn more cybermoney to buy stuff for your players, hire a better trainer, etc.
It could be really fun if some of us create players and in the future, if one of us creates a team and buys/signs all the players created by other FOFC guys. As we will obey our FOFC GM orders and can setup team strategies, we can become a powerful team.
Not sure how fun is this game, but it's free, takes 10 minutes per day to play and i have read good things about it in a Spanish basketball forum.
If you sign under my ref code, i'm awarded points that i think i can use to become a GM in the future, to improve my player and to create more players (by default you can only create one free player).
Anyway it's your choice, to sign under my ref code (that doesn't affect you on any way):

CyberDunk
InsideHoops.com NewsWire | July23, 2007
CyberDunk is a spam community of users who sit alone on their computers hour after hour each day wasting their time pretending to create something to fill the pathetic void in their lives.
Cyber Dunk is some sort of role playing game with users who seem obsessed with spamming the website. The site lacks any sort of "contact us" email address, presumably because they know that the rest of the internet hates cyberdunk, specifically because of the spam their users produce.
If the cyberdunk game was anything special, they wouldn't need to spam. The word would spread. Yet, each day their members, or at least the ones with no lives and presumably no friends, sit at their computers, day and night, spamming cyber dunk out to the world in the hope they get refernence number credit.
Advertisers, we urge you to steer clear of the cyberdunk website. You do not want your good name associated with people who are on the same level as people who send viagra and medical product email spam, and that's cyberdunk.
THe game appears to suck. Go play basketball in real life, watch it on televison, read about it, and play fantasy games. YOu don't need cyberdunk.

Umm don't know what to think, in fact I feel now that I "spammed" it to this board with my thread... but ... what is wrong with telling more people about a game they could enjoy? Also when they say the "The word would spread it if the game was good" Well... what is the difference betwen spreading it and spamming it?
I'm not sure i underestand well that does that insidehoops article mean.
My team just played today's game and the good news is that we won, the bad news is that i did not play :(
I'm the backup PF and i guess the team owner won't play me until i improve my player a bit more.

Thanks for the tip, just a matter of my browser window size (re: hiding it from the boss) that got me on that one.
8 points, 4 assists, 1 turnover in just over 24 minutes of action in game one, not a bad start, but definitely gotta try and get the endurance up.

From reading some of the notes on the game's own website (I haven't signed up yet but may) it appears they had some pretty serious spamming problems with people probably just mass emailing/forum posting, presumably to try to boost their referrals.
It's really not uncommon with MMORPG's as far as I can tell & I think insidehoops may have overdone the hyperbole a little with worrying about people being associated with the game.
And what you posted here isn't anything like spam AFAIC - we know you & it's in the niche that some people here like. It's not as though you dropped into some random forum somewhere and made your referral link your first & only post there.

Unfortunately for Rock, he's been drafted by a team that often plays its starters for 48 minutes, including the backcourt stars that are currently 1st & 4th in the league in scoring. He seems likely to get the opportunity to catch up on a lot of his reading in the weeks to come.

Weird, i see your team has 3 from the 5 players for sale, so maybe you were sold/cut? what is listed right now as your team?

Check your player's homepage under "New Today" and see if you have something like this:
"You have been released by the Phoenix Firehawks and paid the clause of the contract" (which, of course, was $0)
edit to add: So I get myself re-drafted, picking a few countries with the fewest active players as my top priorities. I end up with my third choice (Norway & Sweden were first), so I'm playing in Bahrain for a team in League 2.
Interesting roster - computer managed, 1 Center, 4 PF's, 0 SF's, 0 PG's, and 3 SG's (my position).
And three of those eight players are NPC's. I'm slotted as the backup SG but hope to get some minutes at the point since dribbling & passing at two of my highest rated skills.

edit to add: So I get myself re-drafted, picking a few countries with the fewest active players as my top priorities.
Well, I guess we'll be seeing each other - I am in Bahrain League 2 as a PG on a team with 2 C's, 1 PF, 4 PG's, 1 SF, and 2 SG's... There is one clearly better PG and then 3 of us that are very similar.
Played around with some training, equipment, joined a 1-on-1 tournament..
3 daysish for my first game, that kind of stinks.

My squad played yours.
Got my first PT today. 23 min, 4 pts (2-7, 0-2 3pts, 0-2 ft), 1 block, 4 assists, 4 rebounds form the PF spot.
Nice assists from the post.

nice.so . . . the end result of being on the worst team in the worst division of a small country is that the team is crappy. but you get playing time.
first game: 30 points on 6/15 from the floor and 5/10 from 3s, 8 boards, all defensive, 3 assists in 43:50 minutes.
disappointed in the shooting from mid-range but happy to get PT. :D

I'm on the 23rd place team in the 2nd division of a poor league, but i'm worried about how many PG's we have. I'm hoping that with a couple of days before a game I can build up my ratings enough to get some PT.

I've been reading around on the boards some and it seems like a pretty decent little community.
I think starting an FOFC team would really rock, but I think we need to fully understand what we're doing first so we don't set ourselves up for failure. I'm not sure what happens if we start outclassing our league, etc.
I also imagine if we get any amount of popularity on FOFC we'll need more than one team as we probably already have too many for one team, and definitely too many if everyone wants PT.

It didn't improve their 14th position in the league table, but the Jidd Ĥafş Orcs routed the previously 8th place Jidd Ĥafş Whites 94-65.
A 39-35 halftime lead bloomed with a 19-0 run in the 3rd quarter and that was more than enough to put the game away.
Newcomer Rock Acewell didn't make an appearance until the 3rd quarter but finished with 23:57 PT, 9 pts, 1 blk, 1 assist, and 1 rebound.

For those discussing the 1 on 1 tourney, I think you have to wait until your game day is over (ie: the daily reset that controls when you can sign up for new training, not when your game that day ends) and your actual day off starts before you can sign up. So there is a few hour window between the end of the game and the end of the day where you can't sign up for the 1 on 1 tourney.

Update #1: I was, indeed, released. Went back in the draft and wound up in Italy, League 3. We won my first game. I had 19 points (thanks to 4/7 3-pointers as I suck at regular floor shooting), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. This was all in 3 quarters as I didn't even play in the fourth (stamina problem, maybe?).
Update #2: It appears, after reading in the thread from the team link Icy posted, I was in the fallout from something that could be a dealbreaker for buying a team. People cheat... alot. Seems people buy multiple teams, then drain all the assets and sell/send them to the one team they wish. This gives them lots to spend on players that others in the series can't match. The owner of the SF team did some shady dealing and siphoned off $15 million or so. The team I got on was last years top team. The guy gutted the whole team practically and sent the money to another team owned by his brother. Something like that anyway...very convoluted.
There was 11 mil cash in the account, and then he sold off more players. It doesnt matter what the initial steal was, because there is 15.5 mil missing, just up and taken.
This is a lot different than what Talad and Omnem normally see. For one, your brother was sloppy and obvious. I've already sent detailed PMs to Talad and Omnem about it. Secondly, there's no legwork to be done on their part at all. Look at the account, see it. Easy.
To me its simple - if you really had no idea, then the scenario I proposed to you, keeping it strictly between us, will likely cool the whole scenario down. Somehow ya'll get the 5 mil, and I take back a chunk of the cash so I actually have a chance of rebuilding this team without having to sell any of my Brazilian players. If you keep the money, then it seems to me its pretty obvious you had planned on gutting the team from day 1, and puts your entire situation in doubt IMO.
I guess I'll stick with it for a bit and see how it goes.

Ok, finally thanks to all the players that joined the league i have 1000 cyberpoints, enough to buy a team.
As we have more that enough players for a few teams, what about if i change the refer link at the top of this thread for any of your ID's so if more FOFCers join the game, another of you will get cyberpoints to buy another team and we can end having a few teams managed by fofcers.
If any of you is volunteer to try to buy a team, tell me your ref code and i'll put it in the first post of this thread.

Can you change the team name? I always personally preferred city names over state names. :)
Icy, if you make a team and sign all FOFCers, the team is initially going to suck. A lot. That will probably hurt the team's performance and thus your bottom line. On the other hand, you could potentially sign us to much better salaries than we're currently making (depending on how the budget would be spread around), meaning we could all improve a lot faster than otherwise. Just a couple things to think about.
John Snow had a pretty solid game yesterday. 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 1 steal in 40+ minutes of play. I highly recommend focusing on stamina training until you get it to 20, just getting a couple points seems to help a lot.
Umm bad news, i investigated a bit more and it seems that the 1000 cyberpoints are to buy a team for only one season!! not forever!
So to keep the team for more than one season it would mean:
1) Getting more cyberpoints from new players referals (and i can see now why the game is spammed a lot in other boards, to gain referals)
2) Buying more cyberpoints with real money, at $8.75 per season.
If the game is incredible fun, i don't mind to expend that money, but... even beign fun, i don't think it is that fun.
Can you change the team name? I always personally preferred city names over state names. :)
Yes, this is what we can do when owning a team:
Advantages of owning an entire team: Offer Contracts, Set lineups, improve stadium, change ticketprices, change stadium names, in depth accounting information, release players, bonus players, etc. 1000 CDP.

I still feel strongly that we should wait to buy a team. Just like when I was reading about the guys playing Trukz, I think we need to get ourselves established a bit, understand the game, etc before we go forming our first team. Let us build up some quality off of other people's money, build up cyber points, etc. before we jump into buying a team.

Okay, I'm kind of wondering if this thing might not have some bugs left to work out.
My team just won it's game today by a final score of 180-20.
40 36 51 53 180
7 2 7 4 20
Apparently our opposition only had four players and one of those fouled out with just 10:29 of playing time, meaning we played most of the game 5-on-3.
I had a pretty good game I guess, 20 points of 8/13 from the floor, 1/3 from 3 pt, and 1/4 at the line with 38:38 of playing time. I also shared the team lead in rebounds with 24 as we outrebounded them 87-13. 'Course, there's a little problem with our 76 defensive rebounds ... the other team only took a total of 34 shots.

Something I've noticed: Starters must play until they absolutely pass out, then the backup comes in and does the same. Looking at the box score, the starting PF on my team played all 24 minutes of the 1st half, then a much of the 3rd quarter as he could, then I came in and played the rest of the game. My line says I played only in the 3rd and 4th quarters and played about 23 minutes.

Another note - I view this gamea s more of a potential exercise like Trukz rather than an attempt to make a great Basketball simulation. It's more like a decent web game that has Basketball as the back-drop. The fact that it takes all of 5-10 minutes a day to manage makes me abale to rationalize this. If it took an hour a day and was completely unrealistic I'm sure I'd quit pretty quickly.. but this seem slike an ok mock of basketball that takes little commitment.

Anybody done much looking forward as far as training goes? Think the tradeoff of time gained vs extra money spent is worth going with the advanced training methods once you can afford it (this of course for the 10/20 level training)?
$60 + 1 day to improve 1 category for 1 point
vs
$20,000 + 3 days to improve 1 category for 5 points
vs
$14,990 + 4 days to improve 2 categories for 3 points and a 3rd category 1 point.
Obviously faster to use the latter two, but how big of a contract do you need to have going to justify that price? Worth going bigger while at the lower levels at all?
I'm up to 17.31 so far just sticking (obviously) with the $60 training. Going to do a bit deeper digging at home, but just trying to get all my skills up to 20 for now while giving my PG related skills a bit of a boost through clothing bonuses.

I didn't really give much thought when I first chose the training. I did +2 dribbling and +2 passing for $500/5 days. I don't think I could've done +1 since I was already at 20 in both.
I think I'll do a series of +1 upgrades to get everything up to 20 before I do any more advanced ones.

Q1: 12 min
Q2: 12 min
Q3: 50 sec
Q4: nothing
Looks like the same numbers for our star C Zigmas Jeronimo. It looks like you play until you drop dead and then you're out the rest of the game. Of course this is only one box score, so maybe it's something else weird.

I'm thinking similar logic.. at our salary levels right now the $60/1 day is the best value.. but if you want something to increase and you're at 21, you need to do the $500/5day/+2/+2 training (which I did yesterday). You get less increase per day, but you can't do the +1 $60 if you're over 20.
So, I am trying to beef up my "PG Skills" so I went ahead with the 5 day deal, but yeah - right now for things that you are under 20 and you want to increas - $60/+1 is the way to go.

From what I have found poking around is even with a decent salary (which none of us are particularly close to getting), we need to do some hardcore betting to get our cash reserves up. There are apparently a lot of decent bets out there that give between 4:1 and 5:1 odds (good bets seem to be those where the team match-ups are close in value and pit a human vs. a computer), over time that will generate lots of cash. If you can stand their awful forums, they have a thread where people post their daily best bets:
hxxp://www.talkdep.com/showthread.php?t=12236
Kind of silly to have to go this route to get a bunch of cash, but you can obviously get superior equipment and training if you have a big stockpile of moolah and thus advance your player faster than via salary alone. I've set 2 bets thusfar, one takes place later today, the other one worked out at a 4.9:1 payout.
EDIT: To answer your Q, I think the more expensive ones are worth it once you have the cash available to do it, since you will gain more stats in less time (using the +5 in 3 days training vs. the +1 in 1 day) and once money isn't a factor, the only factor left is amount of time needed for training...so ideally you'd pick the most stats in the smallest amount of time.

Thanks for the link, definitely will check into that.
And yeah, once money is no longer a factor, then it's a different race, but I guess if the betting is that "easy" (won't comment too much until I see how well that works), then it shouldn't take too long to eliminate one of the options at least.

We are now 2-0 during my tenure, beating Frosinone Vikings 90-72. I had 20 points with 9 boards in 34:40 PT ( 12:00/12:00/5:34/5:06 by quarter with a stamina rating of only 15). The MotM had 23 points and 29 rebounds  !
On the betting front, I read that thread before and took their advice...and made $2800 on an $800 bet ($2k profit). The game ended 111-41 as the other team had ZERO players and had to start a brand new team group lineup. IoW, check the betting games for auto win bets if there are any.

I only had $388 to put on that one (split my money between two bets), but I'll definitely take the $1,358 return on that investment.
Only got to play 2:48 in the most recent game (a loss), a bit let down after playing around 38 minutes in a winning effort the previous game. Not sure if I was injured or what, but shouldn't have been an endurance issue.
Great, after the Pm i sent to my team's human coach, he finally gave me some play time... with great results. I outplayed the starter with 1/3 of his minutes.
The starter played 34 minutes, scored 4 points and took 2 rebounds
I played 13 minutes, scored 4 points and took 3 rebounds, so it seems i did better than the starter while playing way less minutes.
Let's see if my coach plays me more from now, there is only one problem, the starter is the team's coach player, so i doubt i'll ever take the starting job :(
Of course i won't renew my contract once is over with this team, and will become an FA.

no PT for game 2. it looked like (based on the minutes played) the starting SG was out of stamina last game and i ended up playing the whole game there. we have a new SG (bastard) so next time the fella is dead on his feet, i may not get the same chance. c'est la vie.
and, <curse words>, somebody went and bought the texas rockets (the team icy was looking at). they had apparently been a highly ranked/rated team that went kaput. so the bet line on them were still high even though they had no players. i managed to get one good bet on them. but now that's gone. bastards.
according to the sentiment on the forum, that seems to be how people are affording training/equipment -- through betting. contract is just . . . nice. i don't think i have the patience some of y'all folks do but, apparently, the idea is to find a human-vs-computer game where the computer was the more highly rated game and you get a nice payout on the human.
now, i just need to find more of these games. :D

I've set 2 bets thusfar, one takes place later today, the other one worked out at a 4.9:1 payout.f'n jag. beat me to it. bastard.

a quote from that betting thread:
I'm with wade moore about only playing because the game takes so little time. I haven't played long, but I haven't been very impressed so far. It has a lot of potential though, so I'll stick with it and see where it goes.
Agreed on the potential - and again the activity and openness of the developers (compared especially to say Trukz) is very encouraging to me. So, I'll stick it out for now through the rough times. It seems like you can get by without spending real cash - that just gets a little tricky maybe when buying a team. But we could pool money for buying a team and have very little impact on each of us individually.

The AI that determines playing time and substitutions is idiotic at best. I drop 21 points and 4 assists in 30 mins one game and ride the pine for the next game. I agree with others that starters seem to be based on how much stamina you have at the start of a game. I'm back to 100, so I suspect I will start and play all 48 tonight.

Third straight win for a previously hapless team, as I play nearly 46 minutes and suck pretty much. Just 8 points & 6 boards. And stamina down into the 80's now, so I probably won't play at all in the next game.
I'm really starting to have problems with the apparently whackadoo engine behind the basketball part of this game, trying to stay positive but finding it tough to do right now.

Just got to play my first complete game and helped the team pick up their second win since joining the team. Apparently my new accessory purchase helped out with the rebounding situation as I only had 1 total coming into the game and proceeded to pick up 6 in this game alone (while still tying for the team lead in assists with 5).
So far: 20pts (7 of 15 from the floor, 0 for 2 from the line and 3 of 13 from behind the 3 point line), 0 steals (somewhat surprising), 1 turnover, 2 blocks, 16 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 fouls in approx. 9 quarters of action.
Definitely need to see the steal numbers start/improve, but otherwise, relatively happy with the production.

Yeah, I would definitely not recommend doing the searching yourself for good bets, just read a couple pages from that forum link above and you'll have the info you need. I'm 5 for 6 with bets thus far and have pushed the cash up to 32k. With some luck today, that will be closer to 170k.
Meanwhile, John Snow managed a double-double yesterday, but after attempting 10 3pt shots, his energy was down to 70% (I think I saw somewhere that 3pt shots drain energy faster). I changed my tactics so that won't happen again, at least not til I have more stamina.

I wish I had gotten on betting earlier, made a lot of cash last night. I'm going to be riding this betting train..
Anyway.. the top PG on my team left for another squad so I played last night..
In 33 minutes my stats were:
14 points - 4/9 FG, 2/4 3P, 1 Block, 3 Assists, 1 OR, 3 DR
Not pad for a young PG.
I just started to bet, didn't try it before. Regardng playing, my human team owner keeps not playing me for a single minute, if i doesn't play me again in the next game i'll request him to release me.
For betting I recommend not putting all your eggs in one basket, just like with regular investments. It's a good thing I followed that because I put a good chunk of cash into the Baharin team and lost it, but I still have two other bets that would net me a profit for the day if they come through.

Novi Shinobis lost their first game last night since I joined the team. My playing time mysteriously dropped to only 8 minutes after having posted career highs in our previous game, being the 2nd leading scorer on the team. I checked who took my minutes and it seems we've signed another PF. His value is lower than mine. He played all 48 minutes.
Playing time is really screwed in this game, i like training and the mix of human owners and players, but the match engine needs a huge work.

Looks like fouls play a big part in determining who comes off the bench. Last game for me (im a bench warming SG) there was a total of 5 fouls the entire game and i never left the bench.
I've played a total of 3:25 in the last two games. :(

Day 39 he scored 11 points (4/7 FG, 1/3 3Pt) and had 1 steal, 7 assists, 1 oReb, 4 DReb in about 35 minutes
Day 41 he scored 16 (4/9 FG, 2/5 3Pt, 2/4 FT) and had 1 Steal, 1 Block, 5 Assists, and 4 DReb in about 42 minutes

One thing I took from Hattrick is not to take a computer game engine for granted so, while I have been lucky and not lost a bet yet, I also never put all my money on one game. I have always either bet on two games as a hedge or, if I can't find two I like, I don't bet the whole wad on the one game. It will take me longer to get really big money in my account, but less chance to lose also.

If the league forums aren't up soon (or even if they are), opinions on splitting up the leagues for bet research? Guidelines like HUM vs COM, min 4.0 betting line for the HUM where HUM team value >= COM team value? If we have enough people checking, could just split up the leagues so it doesn't take anybody too terribly long on their own. Should also be cleaner than the booky thread (which we could still cross reference if/when it's up again). How many are still actively playing this?

This morning was a good example. My team won, I played 48 minutes, scored 10, had a career high in assists, and put another $60 trainer to work. I tried several leagues looking for a decent HUM vs COM bet, came up empty.
Sum total of my reaction was basically "big whoop".

Well, I'm assuming for now that this is just laying the framework and that the game picks up quite a bit when you're on a human controlled team/build a bit of a community with your other players/coach/etc. Not sure how it'll work next season when/if there is a FOFC team (really hoping there is), but that'll be the make or break point for me. This season I'm just trying to get a decent cash flow going so I can pump up the training.

Frankly, I've not really seen anything in the community there that I'd really want to have much to do with. I've got enough obnoxious jerks & 12 year old halfwits in my life, no need to add more.
I'm starting to think that the only way this might be interesting long term is as a owner/coach, and I'm not really picturing myself getting $10/season (or whatever it is) worth of fun out of that either. Right now I'm still able to manage to do some fire-and-forget stuff -- basically remembering to train something every day & I'm curious enough to see how my team & player did -- but I'm just not feeling it very much at this point.

Very delayed dola...
I may be alone still with this game, but I finally hit a 19 value and $1 million in the bank.
Yes, it's a pretty lame game at this point, but I only spend 5 minutes a day so I'll stay in for now (5 minutes consists of setting training, reading the betting thread and placing a bet).

im still goin, i think im at 18.7 but my money is low, i bet, and then use it all to train, then do it over again.

I'm at 18.62 with 400k in the bank.
I messed up with that early betting, but once I got on a roll I'm doing very well. I'm still definitely interested in an FOFC team when Season 4 rolls around. Good thing about that it is it will weed out those that lose interest in the game also.
I'm at 19.8 but with only $5k in the bank. I started to bet recently again but after loosing it all a few times, i decided to play safe and bid only on the easy wins, that means low income growth (x1.3) but secure.
I'm enjoying the game as it takes me 10 minutes per day to login, setup training, check stats and join a 1on1 if i have a free day. I have 1k cyberpoints stored to buy a team for the next season and i'll try to get some FOFCers in the team, so before renewing your contracts, pm me with your ratings etc to see if i can make room for you in the team and sign you as free agents.

The thing about money and betting is that the max bet for any single day is $35k so now that I have lots of money I just bet on one game that I'm very positive about for the whole $35k. If I win I hit a $100k+ gain. If I lose (and I have only lost twice so far) it's just a drop in the proverbial bucket.

I'm still with the game. I got bought or sold or something...all of a sudden I'm on a different team. But I'm getting more PT now and putting up some solid numbers.
It's not the most thrilling game in the world, but it fits into the very limited free time that I have right now.

I'm still playing, but I haven't done a bet in about a week, and my team signed 2 PFs and I'm now the lowest rated one at 18.3.

Still playing, but some days I forget to login so I'm only at 18.15.

I'm still with it. I like the fact that this game is pretty passive and I don't have to do much more than log in once a day and check on things.
My SG is second rated on my team with an 18.31 rating. Getting massive playing time however and starting to see my point output increase. Last game, I scored a career high 25 points.
Cheers!

Val Cano is still playing. He's apparently the Magic Johnson of the Bosnia & Herzegovinia league as he's dropped 11 and 15 assists in his past 2 games (while playing PF).

For betting - go to the forums and read the "Jeff the Booky" thread... the goons on there do the work for you.

i concur with wade.. i'm almost over 1.5 mill now in cash just by following that thread
Nice, my team sold the PF that was above me, so i should get all the play time now.
Still playing at 19 value and about 800k in the bank. It's not a bad game for the time required. If it took hours a day to do it, I'd be gone though.

Just got a contract offer from the Dallas Dragons in the USA Silver League to be their backup PG. I like that the guy was up front, sent me an accompanying message outlining what my role on the team would be (would only get to play when their starter is fouled out or unable to play due to fatigue) as well as the perks the team offers (active team forum, player build tools, scouting reports, rotation reports). Makes it a bit easier to walk away from the $50,000 signing bonus with how the betting system works, but I'd much rather participate on the FOFC team.

Wow, my guy went crazy today..
Man of the Match with 36 points (11/17 FG's, 4/5 3 Pt, 2/2 FT), 3 Assists, and 1 Rebound.
Looking at the calendar - does it look like the season is about to wind down and they'll we'll be moving to a new season soon? Icy - is it time to start looking at what team to buy?

Been doing the +5 training to get as many skills to 25 before I have to go to the next level of training costs and times, if that makes sense.

Just bought my first (maxed out) piece of under clothing to go along with my earlier purchases of shoes and accessory. Now to start towards the 2.8 worth of coin to buy maxed out gear in those two categories before the more expensive training starts to really kick in. It is quite nice to see that extra +15 to 3 point shooting as a result of all the gear though.

Dola, just checked out the game for today and won my second straight MOM award. Got it yesterday for pulling down 20 boards, today it was a result of 28 points and 18 rebounds. Good couple of days for upping the rebounding average that's for sure.

Man, I guess I really need to start betting if I want to get ahead in the game. I'm slowly but surely getting better, but it appears the $60 training sessions aren't going to cut it...

I'm at 19.8 or so, getting better , but still need to improve stamina ( currently at 25)
I have started to look for a team to buy, i'll post later what i found. I guess you guys would prefer an USA team right?

Yeah, the way this game is setup I could care less where it is located. I'd rather us have a solid team, in what appears to be a good division, but where we can stay competitive.

Up to 19.8 now. I've gotten MOM 3 starts in a row. Problem is there's a PF rated 21 above me, so I'm starting every other game right now.
I've won more bets than I've lost, but, for the most part, I wish I had this kind of luck in real life. :)

I'm not rated quite as highly as you guys because I missed a few training sessions because of the stuff with my dad, but I am at almost $1mil and have quite a bit of good equipment.
I'm currently a 19.38 PG.

What's the plan for playing time/rotation/roster selection? I'm not terribly familiar with basketball (compared to hockey/football/baseball) so when it comes to the tactical side of things I'm probably a bit behind. I've tried to make my PG an effective passer, concentrated 3 point shooter and good at steals (though for some reason he seems to be owning the boards right now, so that might tell you just how well my ideas are being executed, d'oh). Not sure if that'll fit with what Icy is looking for, but I'm definitely willing to start training towards a different build if it'll fit in better.

Next MOM
26points

I need help understanding the bet thread.....then I will be on

This is so weird.. I won man of the match again with 30 points.. what's weird is that the only thing that has changed in the last two games is we picked up two stud SG's (best ratings on the team).. so somehow adding them and now I just blow up.
30 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds in 39 minutes of play.

And I'm going in the opposite direction of wade moore.
Last five games:
(today) 48 mins, 1 point, 0/10 from the floor
43 mins, 23 pts, 10/22 from the floor
48 mins, 7 pts, 3/9 from the floor
40 mins, 19 pts, 8/15 from the floor
30 mins, 1 pt, 0/9 from the floor

I was thinking with me it may be a recent boost in Confidence, because I'm taking a crap-ton of shots when I used to hardly shoot the ball.

I think we added a fourth (human player) big man, but you'd think that would make things easier for me from outside, not harder. Only thing I can figure is that it's moved me from SG to PG (although I think I've been mostly at the point for a while now anyway).
k, i have been researching their forums and i saw that i can buy a team for 70 real life days, that is a full season, so i'll wait until the season is over to buy a team, that way it will last until the end of th next season and then i'll decide if it's worth it to buy another season for $10.
About the lineups, tactics etc. i'm going to be the one who owns the team as i have the cyberpoints from all the refered players in this thread, but i want to run it in a democratic way. Everybody will have a say on the team tactics and lineups, so that way none could say that player X gets more play time etc. Of course we won't be able to buy the 30+ players that posted in this thread, as i think a team can have only 15 players max. In fact i think the perfect number would be 10 players, to have one backup at every position. Having too much players it would mean that none would get enough play time (and fun). To start with, i'll try to sign the best FOFCers but that are also still really interested on commiting to train their players daily, obey to training and tactics suggestions etc. Anyway more about it once we can own the team, in 3 or 4 days i think.
