This is the thread to go along with the fantasy football roster poll thread...

My 10 year running league, most of the guys at one time worked for the same company, same division.

The owner in question, I never actually worked with, but know through the people remaining after he left and I started, one being my current supervisor (who, side note, actually left the original division, which is the position i took when hired.)

This guy and my supervisor were pretty good friends back in the day, but sort of lost touch as each bounced around. So about 3 weeks ago, the 3 of us planned to try and get to lunch. As it usually is, certain dates didn't work out, etc etc and we never made it to lunch.

Week 4 of the season, we noticed he'd left Steven Jackson in his starting lineup, even after it was announced early that he was out. Not thinking much of it at first, other than maybe something came up at home. UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR.

He was arrested for soliciting a 14 year old girl online. Except, it wasn't a 14 year old girl, it was a cop.

So, I think that qualifies as good reason to need to drop out of the league.

Hmmm... Maybe he has a fetish for cops who pretend to be young girls. I suppose that's better than if he were an actual child molester.

If it's someone you never suspected prior to their arrest, it can be a pretty big shock. There was a guy who was part of the regular Saturday morning breakfast crowd at the restaurant up the street from my house who I had eaten with for a couple of years, talked football & all sorts of stuff with every weekend, etc ... right up until he was arrested for molesting several of the 12-14 softball players he'd been coaching.

Anyone who had no clue about this side of him was completely like "Huh? Wha?"

He's also the first person I ever knew who fled to South America to escape prosecution. And he later became the first & only person I ever knew to be returned to the US to do time after he "upset" the local village mayor (or whatever) by trying to diddle his young daughter, forcing him to flee to the local authorities for help to avoid what would surely have been a traumatic amputation.

First in a series of one, I hope.

Well, later I did know (more like knew of) another guy who also fled the country to avoid prosecution. Turns out there are a couple of people in that little small town we used to live in who own large amounts of property that is convenient for such things & apparently aren't too concerned with what nefarious types they let use it.

But the second guy wasn't returned fleeing for his life (nor his balls).

Anyone else starting to think Jon needs to start meeting different people? :D

They're really hiring them young now.
