Hi folks. Long story short, I am an Action! refugee in need of a home. Have played the demo version of FOF and really like it. I have a few quick questions though before I go ahead and buy.
One- can leagues be set up with different numbers of teams, like say, a 14-team league? Two- is it possible to create rosters from past seasons?
I ask because I want to replay from about 1975 or so, setting up an alternate history where the AFL never merged with the NFL and then took on some of the WFL teams in a merger of the two leagues.
Am hoping I can do all this, because, well, let's just say I've had it with Action...
Also- are links to our pages allowed here? I have a site but don't want to post a link to it until I'm sure that's allowed. Said site is a personal page at Tripod, non-commercial in nature, and is a monthly magazine covering the world of text and board game sports sims.

Welcome to the FOFC and trying FOF in particular Kevin!
With alternate league structures, unfortuantely, FOF2007 only allows 32-team league structures. However, there are historical draft files already available which allow you to start back as far as 1970. When I run a historical league, I just imagine that the NFL merged with some other league and create fake teams and nicknames for these other teams.
As far as links go, stickied to the top of the General Discussion forum is a list of dos and do-nots when it comes to posting links (such as NSFW links). Those are the only real rules which guide posting of links (other than common-sense).
So, welcome and feel free to stick around!

OK- looks like what I'll do is buy this for simming NFL seasons- as for my AFL project I'll use something else I already have. I plan on having a site with three leagues everyone can follow- the AFL, a college league created with The College Years, and an NFL sim that will start with actual players and integrate fictional ones from my college league as time goes by. As I'll
already be "reimagining" the past with the AFL, I'll probably start the NFL at 2006 and play several years into the future. Using fictional players will no doubt make evaluating players more of a challenge in FOF.
By the way, my monthly e-magazine that covers sports sims and replays is at: http://retro-sportspages.tripod.com/
The site itself is very much work-safe but some of the pop-ups from Tripod are not, so if viewing from work, make sure to have pop-ups blocked. This month's issue covers a replay of the 1969 baseball season as well as my issues with Action! and has reviews of sims as well. Not to brag, but I've gone from 800 views of issue #1 to 1200 of issue #3 and just two days after publishing issue #4 have 75 views of it already.
Am glad to be here- without engaging in any personal attacks on anyone, I will just say that the Action! forums have gone downhill quite a bit lately.
