Cincinnati shows up in the also receiving votes section as "Cinncinati". Did someone misspell the city and cost them a spot in the rankings?

I'll fix that. My parser should have caught the misspelling, but it didn't.

I had actually moved up USF to #1 this week. After thinking about what they had accomplished and what the other teams near the top had accomplished, I felt that USF was #1 because I had some doubt as to whether any team up there would necessarily beat them on a neutral site. Ohio State hasn't played anyone, we don't know about them. Oklahoma did stumble to Colorado. LSU might have had a hard time on offense against LSU. Boston College is a paper tiger. While I had a hard time making the decision, I felt that what they had accomplished this year on the football field had spoken for itself and with everyone else stumbling or playing bad schedules, it was getting harder and harder to ignore them.

Obviously, I was wrong and will rank them lower accordingly next week. Their defense was a bit overrated by me. Next week's rankings will again be tough at the top as well as the bottom. It really depends on how Ohio State, Oklahoma, and LSU play.

Food for thought- lets say Ohio State loses, and both LSU and Oklahoma win, both play very good games.

Do both LSU and Oklahoma jump up ahead of BC, to take 1 & 2? Or does BC move up, even though they haven't played anyone- and are sitting on a bye week.

Well, I don't think they will in the overall poll, but they are both already ahead of BC in my rankings and will stay that way this week if both win (or in OU's case, if it's not a "close" game in terms of competitiveness). If BC goes into Blacksburg and wins, I will likely change my tune. It would take a win like that to prove to me that BC is a team worthy of playing for the national championship. Until then, they are just a team that hasn't proven anything. Ohio State is somewhat similar, but I think they'd beat BC head to head, that's why I have them ahead of BC in my rankings.

It's not like I don't think BC is deserving of a NC bid if they win out, but this poll is based on this week, not the end of the year. If USF had BC's early schedule, I would not have put them ahead.
