View Full Version : Bite me Lowes.

I usually go to Home Depot anyways, but Lowes can screw off from now on when it comes to me shopping there. It's not much, but it's the only protest I can do and not get in trouble for right now. I had a strong urge to break stuff in front of the store earlier.

I get a load from their dist. center in north Texas to Aransas Pass down here by Corpus Christi. It was ready last night and due to deliver Sunday evening. But we just drop and leave our trailers at Lowes, so technically I can do it anytime they are open before then. This is my load home, when I am done I just deadhead to the house a couple hours away.

I go to pick up the load last night to get started, but there is a problem. The Lowes people are the idiots of the trailer loading world, and when I saw the weight on the bills being 42,000 I got a little worried. I hook to the trailer and scale it out, and of course it is over-weight in the rear. It was 22:00 at night, so I had to leave the trailer and come back this morning hoping it would be reworked. I had to wait until 11:00 this morning before it was done. Got the trailer and left. A few delays on the way of course, and a stop for fuel. Got down here at 21:45 and they won't take the fucking load. It is too much trouble for them to send someone around back or even open the receiving door so the seal can be broken. And then of course they would have to wait for me to drop and hook the trailers. They were leaving in 15 minutes to go home and that would just take too much time. (It would have taken me 15 minutes at most) The manager then tells me it's no big deal, they can do it in the morning and I was probably just going to park it for the night anyways. Told him no, I was going home actually. All he said was "Oh, well they can get you first thing in the morning."

I had to bite my tongue, literally. I wanted to slap his fat bloated face and knock shit over as I walked out. I am glad they got to get home on time though so they could see their families. I am glad (after two weeks on the road) to give up the next 14 hours or so, so they wouldn't be 5-10 minutes late getting home. Asshole.

I am sitting in nothing but my boxers behind Lowes while posting this. It's possibly a first on this board and just wanted it noted.

That sucks, I think you should have your boss let them know about this.

You should have locked the manager in the trailer until they got it unloaded.

Where can a guy get a rig sleeper? I was thinking about getting one and putting it down at the local dump. Kind of like a cottage when I need to get away from the hustle and bustle of living in my car.

it's not the 'posting in his underwear' that's the first.

it's posting in his underwear behind a major retail store location that's probably not all that common. ;)

While I may not agree with the order of the items you listed above, I applaud your creative use of hyperbole, Rizon.

It's what happens every time I go into Home Depot asking for help. I can find better home repair advice at the Halloween Superstore.

Uh, I wish that would do some good but it wouldn't. Lowes is our customer and the customer is always right. The customer also holds the trucking company by the balls because they are a major account and can say F off because there are 10 other trucking companies ready to take the contract over tomorrow.

Home Depot screws drivers over at their stores as well, I just haven't had it this bad before. 14 hours waiting to pick up the load, and 15 hours waiting to deliver. It was only 8 hours of driving in the middle.

Well, it's only getting probed once a year. So it's not intended to be THAT bad!

My wife once took a dump behind a Home Depot. Unrelated, but where else can I post that little gem?

Nope, not a dime. Detention pay (for this company, it can vary a little from company to company but it's pretty much the same everywhere) starts 2 hours after your appointment time. Technically my appt. time was not until 5:00 P.M. yesterday, so I get screwed out of it. That is the catch with a load that says you can deliver anytime, yet still has an appointment time.

I am going to check on getting detention time for when I picked up the load though, since the load was ready and I could have taken off if it wasn't for the fact that it was overweight on the trailer tandem and I had to wait for it to be reloaded. Not sure I will get it though.
