Instead of having these things pop up every week, lets just have a centralized thread where we can all leave each other feed back. Anyways, I'm in trouble this week, my only decent RB Ronnie Brown is now out for the year and so I need a RB. I had somebody coming up to me expressing interest in my WR Reggie Wayne this week and have to figure out something that works out for both teams.
My RB/WR are:
WR Curry - OAK
WR Johnson - DET
WR Randle El - WAS
WR Jennings - GB
WR Wayne - IND
RB Johnson - CIN
RB Turner - SD
RB Portis - WAS
RB Morris - NE
His other RB/WR:
WR Owens - DAL
WR Colston - NO
WR Stallworth - NE
WR White - ATL
RB Jones-Drew JAX
RB Westbrook PHI
RB Jordan OAK
RB Bennet TB
RB Graham TB
RB Rhoddes OAK
We get 1pt for every 10 rushing and receiving yards. .5 for receptions, 6 for TDs. We start 2 RB, 3 WR, and one RB/WR flex.
Any thoughts?

First question...is this a trade with your brother? ;)

Is there no one on the waiver wire?
How big is the league?
In my one league I trade Harrison/Colston for Evans/Jacobs (it's 3 WR set, 2RB set). I had Ward already, so I figured to go for the two headed lock. Then I traded away MaGahee for Reggie Wayne (straight up).
My WRs are Wayne, Marshall, Crayton, Evans and Mason.
My RBs are Jacobs/Ward, Selvin Young, Chatman (thanks for the info), Thomas Jones and Steven Jackson.

I've got Tom Brady which has lead me to a great 5-2 start, but I'm curious about what might be worthwhile in a trade. I don't have a viable second QB on the roster right now, so that has to be a priority. We get 1 point for every 2 receptions.
Looking at the rosters, I think I might target the Carson Palmer owner. What does every one think about a Brady for Palmer and either Westbrook and Adrian Peterson (MIN)? I could throw in a back-up running back perhaps even Thomas Jones.
Any other QBs worth targeting. The Romo owner also has E. Manning, so I'm not sure he is a good match. If I try for Peyton I might be able to get Roddy White. Would be asking for Maurice Jones Drew be worthwile?
Thanks.

Not a trade, but do you think it's viable to start both Addai and Keith? I have Shaun Alexander on a bye, who sucks ass anyway. I also have Chester Taylor, Selvin Young, and Kevin Faulk. Free agents suck... Keith has the biggest potential out of all of those I think, at least until when/if Henry get suspended...

I would do a Kenton Keith/Addai committee for 1 week if my other starter was on a bye...I wouldn't do it all season. I would drop Faulk for Keith (I believe Patriot runningbacks are really poor options right now, but may be more valuable as the weather turns colder). I would hold onto Young and Taylor for depth.

I just found myself wondering whether I should consider starting Brian Griese over Peyton Manning. Must be the Ronnie Brown withdrawal syndrome kicking in... (Good luck with the recovery, Ronnie!)

I got desperate and traded Reggie Wayne for RB Jordan and WR Roddy White, even though White is on a bye this week I am hoping the two can help push me into the playoffs.
Damn you Ronnie Brown. Damn you.

Oh, I already have Keith. I've defaulted him as the starter this week since Alexander is on a bye. I'll see how that works this week, but I'm thinking Alexander will be poor the rest of the year... and Taylor will lose reps to Peterson (and get no TDs either)... So I'm hoping Young turns into a great draft choice. I'd drop Faulk, but I don't see any better options on waivers.

Do you think Ronnie is done for his career? I'm in a keeper league, and we keep two guys. I'll probably keep Addai... and right now it's looking like Carson Palmer as my other. But someone just dropped Ronnie Brown. And I have that spot taken by Faulk too... I was thinking of gambling on him for next year...?

I'd grab Brown and at least stash him until you have to make a keeper decision, then evaluate where he's at. Haven't heard anything about this being a career ender (threat is always there of course, but assuming a bigger deal would be being made if that were a likely scenario). Considering the cost to do so is only Faulk, the potential gain greatly outweighs the anticipated loss.

Even if you sign Brown, I would keep him for next year over Palmer or Addai anyway because of his injury concerns.

I'd definitely keep a healthy Brown over Palmer, but if you estimate a year for rehab, Brown is probably not full strength until the midpoint next year. He was also performing WAY over his head, so I'd pass on Brown. I'm not real high on Palmer either - how is he doing this year for you?
MikeVic
10-26-2007, 02:22 PM
Palmer's been alright. He's ranked 6 or 7 in QBs... I was expecting more, but I'll take a hovering around the top 5. The one crazy game (6 TDs and 400 yards I think) won a week for me though.
I don't have many other keeper options, if any at all actually. I could try Ronnie Brown on my bench. I'd reset myself back to last in waiver priority, but I'm thinking one of the other guys will grab him anyway (comes off waivers on Sunday).

Picked up Brown just in case I need a keeper next year.
Ok, so one of my money leagues has the trade deadline coming up this week, and I think I'm within range. I'm 4-4 now, but have three straight Ls. Top six make the playoffs, and I'm #6 currently.
My team:
QB: Palmer
RB: Addai
RB: Alexander
WR: Boldin
WR: Stallworth
TE: Cooley
D/ST: Steelers
K: Gould (being dropped for Akers)
Bench: Donald Driver
B: Chester Taylor
B: Selvin Young
B: Derrick Mason
B: Kenton Keith
B: Ronnie Brown
I got offered a trade of Alexander and my 1st next year (really a 3rd since we keep two players) for Jason Witten and Reggie Wayne.
Both players would upgrade my positions, and I don't like Alexander at all anymore. Maybe Selvin Young can fill in at RB... What do you all think? Others notable players he has are:
Reggie Bush, Jamal Lewis, Colston, Brandon Jacobs, Brandon Marshall, and Reuben Droughns...

Alexander is junk isn't he?
Try and get Brandon Jacobs back. That Giants team can run it.

Well, he could still bounceback... but I want more of a sure thing this year. Alexander still makes an alright keeper (but I cant keep him).
I could try Wayne and Jacobs for something. Witten would be nice, but if it costs me too much... I'd rather get Jacobs. Wasn't sure if I should go after Bush or him, but I'm sure Bush will be this guy's one keeper for sure.

I don't think Alexander is a good keeper. Guy is clearly well into the back 9. 3.4 yards a carry? yikes. That's Cedric Bensen, hit the line and fall down territory.

You never know, but since I can't keep him anyway... I don't have to worry about it. :)
So the guy got back to me, and he'd do Wayne and Jacobs for Alexander and a 1st... he said he's trading Witten to, but he values him highly. The guy's fantasy season is done, and he can't keep more than two guys anyway. Not sure if I should make a play for Witten too. He's been very elite this year, and Cooley has been ok... but other than TDs, hasn't done much. Plus he's blocking more.

Yeah, I like that he'll substitute Jacobs for Witten. Would you make a play for Witten too? Maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him? I'd be crap next year, but I could make a strong play this year... and just flat-out drop Cooley. But I don't know, Cooley isn't horrible... and I'd be really bad the next year.

I would do it as is. Doesn't seem like Whitten will determine you winning or losing this year.
MikeVic

True.
The guy offered to either go through with it this week, or after this week's game. I'm thinking since Jacobs has a bye, I need to keep Alexander for this week... otherwise I'd have Selvin Young starting. It's a handshake deal, but if Alexander gets hurt or something... I'd be scared the guy pulls out.

Standard performance league(with ppr) scoring 4 point passing td..
my Qb is mcnabb.. who quite frankly is mcterrible
Offer i got was Gore for Roethlisberger/Ryan Grant
Normally i'd just dismiss the trade offer outright.. but my other running backs are Willie Parker/Kevin Jones/Jamal Lewis(Start 2)
Is this even remotely doable?
B & B
11-07-2007, 10:25 AM
Berger and McNabb will put up similar numbers the rest of the year IMO.
Gore is a bust. He's banged up and on the worst offensive team in the NFL.
This trade is more about moving him than gettting Big Ben, but yes, its doable since you already have one premium back in fast willie.

Dola: update
Packers RB Ryan Grant (concussion) "took part in spurts during practice" Wednesday but has not been cleared for contact.

Gore is a bust for his draft position, but he still has value, which goes up significantly if taking the week off has finally gotten him past this ankle injury. You'd be selling Gore at the bottom of his market and picking up Ben at the top of his.
That said, based on need this offer may be in the ballpark of acceptable. I'd push back to see if you can get a better add. The RB situation in GB is so fluid that you can't expect that Grant will regain the starting job when he recovers from his concussion.

Alright guys, found the thread rather than posted a separate so that was a big win for me, but here is where I stand:
I'm 7-2, in first place, and second in overall points. We give point per catch for WR/RB, one point per 10 yds rushing, one point per 20 yds receiving, and six points per TD (we have others of course, but these are the pertinent categories). My team is this:
QB- Roethlisberger, Garrard
RB- E. James, S. Jackson, LenDale White, Jesse Chatman
WR- R. Moss, Andre Johnson (finally coming back), Steve Smith (Car.), Moore (from New Orleans, a fill in)
TE- H. Miller, J. Shockey
K- Gostkowski, Hanson
D- Giants
Hanson is only with me for this week due to a bye and then he'll be dropped for either a back-up D or another WR.
Here is the trade that I've got:
I get Reggie Wayne and Shaun Alexander and give up Steve Smith and Steven Jackson. From a personal sanity stand point, both Smith and Jackson have been driving me crazy. But what are your thoughts here?

Pains me to say as a Seahawks fan, but Alexander won't contribute to you this year. There is a very good chance he doesn't even play this week and it sounds like the cast is staying on for the rest of the season, so even when he does get in, he'll still be the one armed man which has hurt him all season. That and Holmgren is talking about opening up the passing game and relying more on it than he has been, so yet another downgrade to Alexander's value (along with the line still not figuring out how to run block effectively a majority of the time).
In short, Jackson is going to be a much better source of points even if he only plays every other game, so unless you really prefer Wayne to Smith, I'd vote nay.

I'm 9-0, my starting lineup has been pretty much:
Brady
LJ
Jordan
Moss
Andre Davis/Northcutt
Witten
McDonald
PIT
Josh Brown
I have nothing but backups on my bench, including Kenton Keith, Selvin Young, Norwood and Scheffler. I have had Andre Johnson on the IR since week 3. I just got an offer of:
Hines Ward
Kolby Smith
for Andre Johnson
I'm a bit worried about my RB situation since LJ may be done for the year, but done for the week for sure, Jordan is now a backup, and the rest of my team are backups. Am I pulling the trigger on Smith too soon?
