This is a fun trivia question... it's easy enough to google so I'm not looking to stump anyone here, but you could get some mileage out of it this week with your buddies.
Question: Who did Peyton Manning take over the starting quarterback job from at Tennessee?
Hint: This player is still active and is expected to start in Denver Monday night, although not at quarterback.
Answer: This guy (http://msn.foxsports.com/id/6810798_36_2.jpg)
Edit: Answer is discussed below, don't scroll down until you want to know.

Was Helton actually the starter? I guess I knew that at one point he was ahead of Manning on the depth chart, but I didn't realize he had actually started some games.

Wow, I didn't know that Travis Henry played quarterback for the Volunteers at age 15!

I think he wasn't the top guy on the depth chart, but due to injuries he did start the games immediately before Manning took over.

Yeah, wasn't Colquitt the other guy involved with that situation?
I was completely mislead by the fact that the guy was still active, I was thinking football not baseball. Didn't Helton wind up being the punter?

Too easy. But I'm a Vols fan.
Jerry Colquitt was the starter at the season opener, but blew out his knee against UCLA in the first series. Enter Todd Helton. Exit Todd Helton.
Enter Branndon Stewart and Peyton Manning. Exit Branndon Stewart.
Todd never did punt. If I'm not mistaken, he was "injured" as well at some point during the year and never returned.

Who was the third quarterback in the Major Applewhite/Chris Simms drama?

He left to play baseball after being moved to tight end.

It's weird, I've seen this posted on three different boards today. And not to be an ass, but if you've seen at least 10 minutes of a Rockies playoff game, you've heard this story 3 times.

Fuck, all that time spent on original research and somebody beat me to it?
:)
You could have asked me. Helton looked horrible as the quarterback. Well, he beat Georgia. That Florida game was U G L Y.
