I can only see her going clockwise. No matter how hard I look I can not get her to go the other way.

Clockwise at first, so that was my pick. I looked away for a bit and when I looked back it was counter-clockwise.

Counter-clockwise. If I try real hard, it seems like she slows down more, but I can't make her go clockwise.

Everytime I look, she is going the opposite direction. Weird.

Clockwise for me, which is interesting given my math and science bent.

Of course, I also had trouble concentrating on just her and trying to ignore the fact that they took the time to give her nipples...

Agreed, except I can't make her go counter-clockwise.

Clearly bisexual.

Glad my title naming innuendo was not missed. :)

Agreed.

I don't get it, she is moving counter clockwise. I didn't read the article, but how can you guys see her moving clockwise?

This is all about whether or not you think, as her leg and breasts stick out on the right, you think they are coming from the back to the front or the front to the back.

Yeah, the analysis jives with my strengths which were math and science when I was in school. I can almost get her to go clockwise if I close it and re-open it, but I can't quite do it.

edit: I know it is very early in the polling, but from my perceptions of the board, I thought I'd be in the majority with seeing her go counter-clockwise.

2nd edit: I finally got her to go the other way for a few seconds. But, I blinked and she returned to counter-clockwise. Weird.

She goes counter if I don't try to make her go clockwise, but I can get her to go clockwise if I concentrate.

LOL, i happened to click back on the page and now I can't get her to move counter clockwise. She is moving clockwise.

This is unreal. Which way is she really moving?

As far as I'm concerned, clockwise. I don't know if there is one real answer or not.

I can make her appear to move whichever way I want. For me, if I focus on the pivot foot and the shadow beneath it, it's as if I can "choose" which direction once the heel of her foot is facing me. I think it's because that's where the image loops, and there's just enough of a pause there that I can tell my eyes to see what I want them to see.

Coder

Clockwise first, but if I focus on the feet I can get her to go anti-clockwise.. I honestly don't think it has anything to do with brainhalves, I think it has to do with how you focus your eyes.

gstelmack
10-26-2007, 03:25 PM

She isn't. She's a silhouette in 2D. There is no perspective going on changing the size of her foot, for instance, as she rotates. Your brain is applying the direction to it.

It changes for me everytime I look away and look back.

It started clockwise, then I looked at my cat, then I looked back and she was counter-clockwise, then I looked at the TV and she was back to clockwise, etc.

Kinda trippy. :D

I heard Colin White can do the same. But not Mike Rupp. He's strictly a clockwise man.

That's what I heard anyways...

Clockwise, though for a bit I was able to concentrate and perceive her going counter-clockwise. But naturally clockwise.

The key seems to be forcing yourself to see her as leading with the left or the right leg. If you get it right, when her legs are together (you're seeing her hip and they overlap), you can "switch" legs as she turns.

Every time I look I see a different direction. I blinked once and she changed. I don't like things that prove my perception wrong.

She likes to move clockwise, but using my super powers, I can get her to reverse direction at will.

Axxon

I saw her spin clockwise but I was able to make her switch. The key is to stare at the plant foot. I did that and almost instantly she switched.

jeff061
10-26-2007, 06:01 PM
Yeah, its the plant foot then just projecting which way you want to see her. I sat here and stared at it until I could make her switch at will.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I can get her to go either way by looking down at the shadow then looking back up again.

counter clockwise for me and my wife. I could change direction like the others by focusing on her feet. when I wasn't staring at her nipples, of course.

I was just going to type this because I just discovered that too. Makes it trivially easy to make her switch by watching the shadow.

Did anyone else notice that either she's cold or very sensitive while moving only clockwise?

It was counter-clockwise, but now it's clockwise.

By the way, she has very pert nipples.

Clockwise.

If I try real hard to see her reverse, I get her to stop or a sec, but never reverse... she just starts back to clockwise.

I could also spend the entire evening staring at her... and not care if I get any difference. I'm getting hungry.

Its the exact same for me, well besides the looking at a cat thing. But Im not trying to make her move the other direction, it just happened when I looked away for a second.

And it was clockwise, counter, then back to clockwise for me. Cool image.

Weird, I cannot see any way but clockwise. My wife cannot see any way but counter-clockwise. Based on that, I am right brain and she is left, but we act exactly OPPOSITE of that.

I don't think any of these simplistic left/right brain tests out there are actually valid.

I see her going counter-clockwise. I was able to see her going clockwise as well, but you just have to change your perception of her.

The leg sticking out is the key. When she goes counter-clockwise, her left leg sticks out. When she goes clockwise, her right leg sticks out. Pretty simple to imagine it that way.

I can not make her go any direction but clockwise. If the shadow on the bottom always moves from right to left how can she be going the other way?

I don't think any of these simplistic left/right brain tests out there are actually valid.

Bingo.

The whole "if you see X then that means you use more of Y hemisphere" business is nonsense. We all use both of our hemispheres all of the time (except for those who've been unfortunate enough to have their corpus callosum severed). There is certainly such a thing as cerebral dominance (as can be seen with language) for some cognitive functions, but dominance reflects a relatively greater contribution of one hemisphere to a given task rather than an exclusive use of a single hemisphere.

This is a very cool perceptual illusion, and it takes advantage of the way our visual system works to construct 3D mental representations from 2D information. But, this says absolutely, positively nothing about whether we use our left or right brains.

Freaky, I saw her move counter-clockwise when I opened the article, but after reading the texton the left, she started turning clockwise.

10-27-2007, 09:37 AM
I saw this at first in the other thread- and I still can only see clockwise. And I would say I am much more of a left side brain type person. I've tried whatever I can think of, and I simply can't make her doing anything but go clockwise.

Also, I couldn't for the life of me change my perception of (clockwise) rotation viewing this in Firefox because the animation speed is too fast. IE ran the animation about 1/2 as fast, making it a lot easier.

What's weird is, I can jive with 'counter-clockwise' watching the shadow, but if I move back up to the model, it goes clockwise. Everytime, without fail.

Well, the first time I looked at it she was anti-clockwise. The next time she was clockwise. Explain that to me...

Counter-clockwise for the first couple of seconds after I opened it (possibly partly because of the flash ad that obscured it until I closed it), clockwise subsequently. I'm a little bit ambi-brained, but I tend to think that I'm more strongly left-brained than right (e.g. I'm very good with logic and with computers), so I wonder if they got the associations backwards.
