Since this came out late, I pushed the upload phase out an extra day.

Hi all-
Work has been so crazy lately, that I wasn't able to comment or upload for I. However- overall- the pictures were amazing! The caliber of work here really amazes me and I've gotten alot of ideas from the wonderful pics.
I'll uploaded for J, and I look forward to being a part of the next letter!

Hm... this week lacks uploadiness. Maybe it's time for me to go dig up another picture since I'm at 2...

Ugh.
My computer totally bombed last night.
I have an external hard drive that I've had for 3 months and haven't taken it out of the box. I'm praying that it's not the hard drive and I haven't lost a large majority of my photos.
Anyway, that's why I didn't upload :(.

Jayhawk - I would liked to have seen a closeup of the snow on the jayhawk and tilted the camera for an interesting angle.
JuniorPotter - I can see a little bit of flash and the bar on the left is a little distracting. He's centered but it actually works.
Just Picked - The price tags are distracting, but wow, what vibrant colors! I would crop the top a tad and focus on the veggies.
JuniorGypsy - Great portrait! The line on the left is a tad distracting, but she looks very natural.
JulyFourth - Don't know what to say about this picture but I like it! It reminds me of watching the fireworks this year with Ant and the kids.
JuniorGypsy2 - Like the pose but the background seems a little bright.
Jayhawks - I really, really like this picture! The anticipation of the linebacker and the concentration of the wide receiver... awesome! I'm not sure if you had the equipment, but I would have liked to have seen more of the defense.. but that's just me being a football fan. You must have had some pretty awesome seats to get a picture like that.
My favorite pictures were "Just Picked" and "Jayhawks" just totally, totally awesome. The Jayhawks pic put a little fire in my belly... I would love to do that professionally!

I was JuniorPotter, JuniorGypsy, and JuniorGypsy2 which I'm sure is no surprise.
I got a 50mm lens a couple of weeks ago and it's all I've been using. The pictures were taken at a YMCA Halloween event. I try not to ask our children to pose (I think it's much more natural to take a picture without them knowing) but that was the exception with JuniorGypsy2. I don't even bother asking our son to pose because he won't so when he actually looks at the camera, it best be a good picture because we don't have many of those.

I'm a little late on these but I thought this was a very strong grouping.
In particular the July 4th stood out, as night photography is hard, as did Just Picked, which had some terrific lighting and made me want to reach out and pick up some of the vegtables.
I enjoyed Junior Potter and Junior Gypsy more than JuniorGypsy2. This was less about technique and more about the subect, as I felt DC's daughter couldn't pull off whatever look she was going for in 2, but had a really interesting look in 1, and the little guy was just plain adorable.

Just Picked- Easily the picture of the week. Sure, it could have been cropped a little but the color variety as well as repetition in this picture is excellent and the lighting is pretty good so it doesn't detract from the picture.
I just can't judge people pics that well, DC, so I don't have much to add to your three. JuniorPotter has a good expression and good foreground vs background while I don't quite like the two JuniorGypsy pictures as much since she seems a bit more disinterested.
Then we have my three pictures:
Jayhawk- There's just something off about the composition of this picture. I think it's a lack of balance to the picture. I like the statue and what makes this picture for me is the setting with the snow coming down and visible. I figure the two Jayhawk pictures were a dead giveaway as to who took them ;)
Jayhawks- This was the late addition, taken with my S3 a couple of weeks ago at the KU-Baylor game. Yes, great seats, 40 yard line about 15 rows up. Still, that 12x zoom does it all. Could use a couple of cuts, but still a great shot. If you look at the picture up close, it's actually even better, I think. There's some fuzzing in the grass and the color is slightly washed out but it's great for being max zoom. There are a couple more shots I liked from that game below.
JulyFourth- I'm a huge fan of fireworks pictures but while most pictures are roughly a 3:1 or even 10:1 ratio from wasted:kept shots, fireworks are at least 20:1 or worse. For instance, I'll have maybe 200 pictures from a fireworks show, keep maybe 25 of those, and 5 or less of those are actually really good while the other 20 just have elements I like. This is one where I think almost everything is good. Not much motion at all- steady hands, a rarity for me. Not too bright, not too dark, good background, multiple good subjects with one item of focus. For me, with fireworks you just have to take enough shots, play with the light settings a bit, and hope you get lucky with the timing.

And in the process of jacking your vehicle. So we would have called the picture Jeeber got Jacked.

Hey, I like my Corolla except it's a little too small for me- I hit my head on the roof sometimes. Then again, mine's a 2005. What's yours?
