From the Potpourri Bracket, it's the first round matchup of the deadbeat pseudo-celebrities!
The Matchup:
Rick Salomon
Rick Salomon (born 24 January 1968 in Neptune, New Jersey) is best known for his relationships with various female celebrities, including Shannen Doherty, Paris Hilton, and Pamela Anderson. Salomon first became well-known after his short and volatile marriage to actress Shannen Doherty. They married on 25 January 2002, but the marriage was annulled after only nine months, with Doherty reportedly upset with Salomon's continuing relationship with Paris Hilton. In 2003, a sex tape featuring Hilton and Salomon surfaced. The tape leaked onto the Internet. After a few months, Salomon started to distribute the tape himself through adult film company Red Light District Video. The DVD of the sex video is entitled 1 Night in Paris and is available widely, and was a huge seller of 2005, winning several AVN Awards. On September 29, 2007 Pamela Anderson and Salomon applied for a marriage license. Anderson and Salomon were married on October 6, 2007.
vs
Rick Rockwell
Rick Rockwell was the groom on the 2000 "reality show" Who Wants To Marry a Multi-Millionaire?. At show's end Rockwell chose as his bride Darva Conger and the two were married on live TV. After the honeymoon, it was announced that Conger was seeking an annulment because Rockwell had misrepresented himself. The annulment was finalized on April 5. Conger was the focus of media attention for not only winning the "contest" but also for getting an annulment so quickly after the marriage. Rockwell claimed to be a millionaire real estate investor, but in fact he only dabbled in real estate as well as screenwriting and standup comedy. Rockwell's past was also checkered by numerous restraining orders filed by former girlfriends and roommates. After the show aired, Conger made numerous public comments about how she was offended by Rockwell's forcibly kissing her on stage, that they never consummated their marriage, and how the entire episode went against her morals. She also stated that she used the show to get a free trip to Las Vegas. She posed nude for Playboy in the August 2000 issue.
