1. Clerks - it started it all.
2. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - to me it was just freaking hiliarous. My daughter was just born and I remember watching it late at night and my wife coming downstairs to the living room to shut me up, because I was laughing so lound.
3. Mall Rats - To me the most underrated out of the whole group. Could easily be my number 1.
4. Clerks II - Excellent, really the top four are all pretty interchangable to me.
5. Dogma - pretty funny stuff, but not near the other four for me.
6. Chasing Amy - by far the worst out of the series. Not even close for me. Still an ok flick.
Jersey Girl - not a jay and silent bob movie, but a good flick. Put it right ahead of Chasing Amy.

I've seen Clerks 2 probably three times now. And still, nothing in this world gets me rolling like the pillow pants scene. I almost feel guilty.
Clerks is the only one I can stand

Chasing Amy and to a lesser extent Clerks, are the only ones that I've liked. The others have seemed much too contrived and forced.

Agreed, everything else is pretty simple and cheap laughs. they work for me though :).

I thought about it, but decided I wanted people to rate them.
But, I figured that everyone liked those movies so they would be willing to make their list of top 6. Turns out I was wrong.

1. Chasing Amy
2. Clerks
3a. Mallrats (so help me, I like it)
3b. Dogma
4. JSB strike back - yeah, its an inside joke, but a fun one.
5. Jersey Girl - not that bad.
6. Clerks 2 (meh - didn't click for me)

I think Clerks was the only real "good" movie I saw of his, though I haven't seen Chasing Amy. Everything else is good for a cheap laugh.

When I was a teenager I had a summer job in a video store. One week I had somebody come up to me and say "Hey, have you seen Clerks? There's a guy in it who reminds me of you." I had no idea what he was talking about, but suddenly I started hearing that two or three times a week. I finally had to see it because I had to see this cool guy that everyone thought was based on me. Imagine my surprise.

1. Mallrats -- I'm the only one but it's my favorite
2. Clerks -- You have to appreciate it for what it is
3. JSB Strike Back -- I think this one's underrated
4. Chasing Amy -- this one took a while to grow on me. A little too dramatic for me in some ways.
5. Dogma -- some of it, I just can't get past that I might be going to hell for it.

Has anyone seen the Kevin Smith 3 1/2 hour College tour film. Think it's called an Evening with Kevin Smith? He talks about his meetings with Prince, hooking up with his wife for the first time, and other stuff. Also quite hysterical.

1. Mallrats - It was the first one I saw, and I watched it about 5 times that weekend, and numerous times since.
2. Chasing Amy - I think this is the best written movie of the bunch.
3. Clerks 2 - Above Clerks because the acting was much better.
4. Clerks
5. Dogma
6. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
None of the 6 is really far from being my favorite though. Jersey Girl wasn't bad either, but I could have done without Jennifer Lopez. Something about her really pisses me off.

2. Clerks - Fantastic
3. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - Not seen
4. Clerks II - Not seen
5. Chasing Amy - Not seen
6. Dogma - Pretty Dire, amazingly over-rated imho.
Dogma was awful imho so I'll give the ones I've not seem some credit and presume they're better than that.

THe only thing I always think about from JSB Strike Back is that if I ever saw Ben Affleck I'd go, "Yo Affleck! You were the BOMB in Phantoms, yo!"

Was he the main character? No, they meant the video store guy. The one who doesn't work, reads magazines all day, and orders porn titles in front of children. That guy.

I love that line.
There are a few gems in that movie, though overall I didn't care for it. I liked that one and Jay's "Damn yooooussse! Damn yooouussse!" line from the Planet of the Apes scene.

1. Clerks -- Nice one, Dorothy Hammel!
2. Chasing Amy -- If they had done a better job casting Amy this would have been one of the best movies ever.
3. Dogma -- Very good, but the dialogue was too prosy and the excramental was one of the worst jokes in the history of cinema
That's all I've seen.
