Vote for the group you would see if both were in concert.

this one was really tough for me.

I went with KISS assuming it was the KISS of the late 70's

This might be the closest one yet

I like a handful of Kiss songs, even though I think they are terribly overrated. I can't stand the Chili Peppers. They've never managed to write even one song that I liked.

Definitely tough luck for the loser in this draw. I went with KISS though since we're talking concert and again, I've had fun at every KISS concert I ever went to.

then you clearly aren't qualified to be doing a music-oriented tournament.

that's like having coordinating an art tourney and saying "i don't know about you guys, but that Van Gogh guy sucks balls".

This one is still up for grabs, which is nice, because most races have not been close.

+1

I am not a huge fan of the Chili Peppers singer, but the rest of the band more than make up for it. Frusciante has been my favorite guitarist for a while. Hell, if the Chili Peppers released an instrumental album I would be first in line.

I would probably go to a Chili Peppers concert over any other band because I love the jams scattered throughout the set.

I always love the "If you don't like the same groups of me, you clearly have no musical taste" arguments. It's not like enjoyment of music is subjective or anything...

The first concert I ever went to with my own money was The Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Pine Street Theater in 1987. Hillel was still alive, and they came out completely naked, with the socks on their ding-dongs and all that stuff. I have numerous Chili Peppers albums on vinyl and even picture discs, have likely heard every single track they've ever released, and have seen nearly every line-up play live.

I tell you this, just so that when I say that the Chilli Peppers suck leaky ass, you will not assume I am speaking out of ignorance.

C'mon people, back in the 80s when good music pickings were decidedly slim, there was an excuse for listening to that faux-funk crap, but those days are long gone my friends.

...and if you disagree you clearly have no musical taste.

They are one of the few bands that has gotten better over the years. The crap you were listening to back then was awful, but since Blood Sugar they've been putting out solid hits year after year.

Probably not in question anymore, but just in case, I'll bump.
