Is it possible?

I am going strictly single back with my team. My QB is 80 sense rush, 85 read defense, 88 scramble frequency.
I cranked up my finese running % to 50%.
50 run, 25 short pass and 25 long pass is the general %s I used.
Will this translate into the spread option?

My QB threw the ball 44 times and completed 19. He scrambled 3 times for 10 yards. He was sacked 4 times and hurried 7 times.

Can I make my QB run more?

Some folks played with this a while back, and no one (at least publicly) could come up with a way to make the QB run more often.

...other than "Get a QB with the highest scramble frequency possible," that is...

I wonder if it would help to also get a "roll out" QB, or was this tested before.

The messing around I did this evening happened to be with a "roll out" QB, but according to the Help File, all that's supposed to impact is the formations he knows. But anyway, I just tried a bunch of different things, on Main Street (lowest scout error) and QB with 99 for scramble frequency and 94 sense rush. Most runs in a season I could get out of him was around 120--a little over seven per game.

For reference, Vick's max in real life is 123. Douglass had 141, but that was back in '72. Randall's max was 118. Young had 83 last year, and is on pace for around 100 this year. This has been adjusted upward at some point in the FOF2K7 patching cycle, fyi. I recall having reported myself that the ceiling for QB carries needed to be raised for high scramble frequency guys, because of having a QB in the NFL who had over 100 carries in all four of his most recent healthy seasons. I didn't try it this evening for multiple QBs, but knowing Jim, I'd suspect that with the max for the last 35 years being in the 120 range, you're not going to be able to get many more than that out of your QB without using a horribly imbalanced (and therefore unsuccessful) game plan.

Tooling around with this a bit. I'm finding that using all single-back offense is slightly increasing QB carries per season with a high scramble-frequency QB. With identical game plan, just changing formation usage, it's increasing from around 80 per year to 90 per year--so less than a carry per game. I didn't examine game logs, but that's a small enough increase that it's possible that it's caused by merely having less pass protection (no FB ever), so he scrambles a little more.

My thinking was that if you use a long pass offense, your QB would scramble more. He takes a 7 step drop, gets pressured and runs.

This wasnt the case. He just unloaded the ball, leading to a 19-44 performance.
