I am unloading at a Big!Lots in Houston right now. That means I am behind a strip mall at the dock. There is a dumpster for some store right in front of me, about 15 feet. One guy on a bicycle just road away with a big box he filled with mostly bags of chips and some other snack thing. The other guy was in a nice Ford pickup and he just pulled away with a bunch of chips and even snagged some oranges and what I think are onions, was hard to tell. They each hit a couple other dumpsters too I think, the guy on the bike did for sure. No one took all the small plants that I saw getting tossed in there early. These stores waste a lot of stuff which I bet most of it is still good. I know it is illegal to do what they did, but good for them, it is better someone gets it IMO. Was funny to see though, I just wasn't expecting it and next thing I know 2 guys are stand in the dumpster throwing stuff out.

A third guy just came by in a fairly new minivan and took a quick look in the same dumpster. Must be new to the game, early bird gets the worm man! Only one of three was didn't have a somewhat new car, must be a good gig. And the dumpster is to the 99 Cent Store I found out.

One time when I went to Supercuts, my hair cutter guy decided to talk to me for an hour about his dumpster diving exploits, instead of focusing on cutting my hair.
