Thank god man, II've been waiting for an Aussie Rules Football game. It's the greatest sport ever, we need that on TV more over here.
And a game that I actually have the required specs for, that rocks!

very interesting. What little I've seen of the game, I've enjoyed.

Apparently Gary Ablett Junior will be joining Geelong soon - the second coming perhaps?
Funny story concerning Gary, son of Gary, and Aussie humour in general...

The line: "But there’s just no obvious name that leaps out for the Son of God" is golden.
I favour 'SOG' BTW.
There is an Australian football game already out and, best of all, it is free. It is not too bad but there's a lot of clicking to sim a whole season. It's called Footy Fanatic - Atomic Edition.

21c, the page to d/l that game doesn't work.

EA Sports made a Austrailian Rules Football game back in the day which was quite entertaining.
Haven't seen anything out since then, which is a shame because Austrailian football seemed quite interesting.
If the link doesn't work then this one should since most of the content is housed at geocities anyway.

You get a 404 error if you try and download the game
I thought he had couple of different download options to choose from.
I think I've still got the original files somewhere at home. I'll see if if I can upload them somewhere later but I don't know if I have the space - they take up about 10 MB if I remember right.
OK I've uploaded the initial files.

I've also got an update file listed below but I can't find the roster update that goes with it. I'm not sure if the update works without the roster file. The top three files should get you started.

Still getting a 404, even with those new links...
Aww, crap. I uploaded them yesterday and checked that they worked. Now I'm getting the 404 error too. I'm at work and don't have my login details here.
The best bet would be to contact the developer directly. I don't have anything to do with the game - I just had a copy of the files. :)
This is his email address ( I hope this works )

I miss watching hurling on TV. It was when I was a kid, but I haven't seen it in a good ten+ years. It's frustrating. ESPN shows crap like "World Strongest Man" but won't show Aussie rules or Hurling.
Why not expand into foreign sports, that's the only way to grow them and I wish they would. Grr..
OK I found this link. Tested it and it worked but it looks like an early version.

Aussie Rules is alive and well on Fox Sports World, they show live matches late at night to be replayed later, as well as Match of the Day style stuff.
Dark Cloud.. FSW also has "Gaelic Games" like hurling and that weird soccer football hybrid ;), as well as rugby league and rugby union.
For those of you wanting a graphical Aussie Rules game

From right here in the US, and the purchase helps support Aussie Rules footy here in the USA
Just got home and checked those files at spaceports. They are all there when I looked at the ftp of the site. I still get the 404 error when I click on them but they work OK if I copy the links and paste them straight into my download manager ( Fresh Download ).
Weird.
I hope someone finally gets a chance to play the game.

Dola, the website for AFL 2004, the update to the game I just linked to, will apparently go live this month.
I watched last year's Grand Final live, stayed up all night to catch the game ;)

I was just told about the link to this discussion by someone that e-mailed me. I can now tell you that the link is back up and can be downloaded at footyfanatic.net
A new version with this seasons lists will be available shortly. The current version still has a few bugs on certain computers but I'll be looking to fix them up as well.
Hope you enjoy the game!
