So I've been feeling really dizzy for the past week. Not like I'm going to fall down and not enough to make me too naseous, but enough to... concern me. I would go to the doctor, but I'm in Thailand until the 5th of Dec. Last night it got bad enough that I decided to go to the hospital.

Now, going to the hospital here isn't exactly like at home because I of course know of nowhere else to go get medical treatment. Plus it is disgustingly cheap. Anyway, I go in and these people look at me like I'm crazy. I'm only 30, and I look pretty young. I'm trying to explain to these Thai people what is wrong with me and the only thing they can come up with is that I have a headache, which I don't. Finally someone decides to take my blood pressure and it is the highest it has ever been for me. 151/79. The doctor checks my eyes for I'm assuming excessive cranial pressure and then prescribes me tylonel for my "headaches" and some dramamine, which I will not be touching because it knocks me completely on my ass.

I feel somewhat better having gone too see a doc, but I'm still not completely convinced the blood pressure was the problem. (In my mind of course I have a brain tumor the size of a basketball.) Any chance I would be feeling this prolonged dizziness over such a relatively "low" bp? I know my grandmother has dizzy spells from her hypertension and has even fallen down, but for the love of god she's OLD!
Needless to say I've stopped smoking and went to exercise today. It is hard to stay away from the alcohol though.

Funny thing about us hypochondriacs is that someday eventually we WILL have the last laugh. =)

I'm not a doctor, but my high blood pressure caused me to feel dizzy at times. I'm on Atenolol that I started when I was only 34. If you have a family history, you need to regularly check your BP and see if it's consistently high.
