You guys sick of answering these threads.

I am always the optimist, searching things out, trying to improve the situation constantly.

So here is the situaton.

Current Job:

Workshop/Seminar Sales and Consulting. I travel every other week, most of the time, more than that and I am missing the family. Pay is amazing, because it is base+ commission and I am on the number 1 team in the company.

However, in Jan they will be shaking the teams up and I am looking at a slim to none chance of me staying on this team due to my performance and needing almost all of us out on the other teams to improve them.

Job Offer:

Founder/EVP of Training. Basically its the old boss from the last company I was at. He laid everything out on the table for me, and what happened at the last company. I will be taking a slight pay cut, but it's guranteed salary, we actually have VC money behind us so I am not worried about losing anything. The first client is knocking on our door and it will set us up. I have a percentage ownership of the company, which after meeting with the investors, bank managers and such, is valued at retirement kind of money for me if we are to be bought out. Which is already being talked about by the VC's as they have some contacts that are wanting in.

I guess my cons here would be, having to move to Bufallo and the fear of what happened last January. However, after talking and looking at everything from R3, I feel I do not have to worry. Now the other con is, wife is going to have to close her business in Utah, and relocate it to Buffalo, which she can do, and definitely make more money.

So I guess the main question here is....what would you do?

Also let me add....this business plan/idea that the company is running with is a brainchild of mine that was talked about a lot last year throughout the year.

I'll be down for a beer and Beef on 'wick next summer if you move to Buffalo.

seems fairly clear-cut. Gonna get season tickets at Ralph Wilson stadium?

Well, throughout the talks with the wife, she made the statement we would have to become Bills fans if we did this....problem is, why would I trade one shitty team for another...

Yeah, unless there's some dramatic reason to stay away from Buffalo, it sounds like a pretty good opportunity. Any way you could talk to your boss about getting a guaranteed salary bump to what you're making now when the company reaches some benchmark?

Nothing guranteed as we have a board of directors, that will control our salaries...however, talking with the board yesterday, the statement was made, that raises will be close to immediate and based upon our achievements.

No kids?

3 Kids, ages 10, 7 and 2...

Currently with the travel schedule, they see me every other week. The new job allows me to be at home, constantly.

That would be the deciding factor for me. Anything that allows you to see your kids more sounds like a good chance to take. It seems like you have the skills to make things work, even if this opportunity somehow falls apart.

Good luck Dennis. I knew two months ago you would be doing this so why even think about it? ;)

Hesitancy on what happened before, but Bob cleared the air last night on everything for me...It was pretty crazy and between Mickey and Stuff, they single handedly killed the company. Pretty crazy.

But talking with the wife, it looks like a move to Buffalo will be coming up here soon.

I understand needing the details, I would too before I could move past what happened at the begining of this year. I just figured it would end up going this way. :p

Call me when you are loaded and need a well paid limo driver or something. ;)

Brief update....I am still in the decision making process here...but, to all means, I am milking it a little.

Company I am with, just laid off 42 guys 2 days ago, demoted a bunch and I barely made the cut.

I am looking at it this way, I am moving from the team where I am making all the money, and the paycut would be well below my new offer with the company in Buffalo.

However, they are flying the family out after Christmas to Buffalo to show us the sites.

I look at it this way...by July, I will be living in Buffalo.

Wow that's a really great offer Dennis, glad to hear the company is coming back and you have what sounds like an amazing opportunity. I'd totally take it if I was in your shoes.

I guess. I wish you the best of luck and I am pretty sure you will do good, but I am still waiting on my reimbursements so I am not the best person to ask. ;)

Well, who knows if we will see those...you see, when Mickey fired Bob, he took control over everything, including paying everyone back, and quite frankly, I do not see that happening.

He has been trying to run the show with Him, Rob and his new girlfriend....needless to say, he has wrecked the truck several times, it has caught fire, and he is running out of cash.

Associates Interactive, was a brainstorm between Bob, Rohan and myself, it is a lot different than R3 was as far as plan, concept and oh...we have VC money.

Guaranteed money beats potential money most days of the week, especially with the years coming up that are coming up.

Man, if I wasn't so pissed of because my load home was canceled 12 hours ago and I wasn't told until now, I would be laughing my ass off. I still have a big smile though.

Everything you just told me is complete news to me concerning R3. I never knew Mickey fired Bob, and I didn't know he has been keeping it going. I guess it explains why I never heard from Rob again as well. Mickey has wrecked several times, and it caught on fire? Oh I wish I had been there for every one of those. Video footage would do. The fact I was not allowed to drive the truck until on tour because he didn't know how good I was at driving a truck always pissed me off. I have put a truck in places he couldn't put a dually. The fact he thought he could drive that truck no problem always made me laugh.

And the comment on the reimbursements was tongue in cheek. I gave up on that by March.

Thanks for the laugh though. Feel free to dish off any more info I may like. :D

A brief update...

As of today..I am no longer an employee with StoresOnline, I tendered my resignation and I am now, Executive Vice President at Associates Interactive based out of Buffalo, NY.

I will be moving the family up that way in June/July, while I start working out of Buffalo Jan 20th, and will be working in a rotation of 5 days there, 10 days home until we move out.

I thank everyone for their advice, it honestly helped out a lot....FOFC for Life!
