Had to vent!!! In a meeting that has turned into complete chaos (but it's now past what I am involved in so I am just an observer). It may get to something related to me so I can't just leave.
It is now taking time away from more assignments that I just received that have deadlines that aren't possible (unless I say to hell with the Christmas and New Year's time off.
What the hell ever happened to common sens in management? I'm going to be starting a drinking habit soon if this keeps up....
Oh well, had to vent. Luckily I'm at the end of the table so I can jump on here for a few to get away from the madness. :)

To complain a little bit more. What they want done is something htat I was given "charge" of a while ago but it involves members or several other teams and every time I tried to get it going I was told that it is not only my lowest priority and not to waste my time but it would be those from the other teams lowest priority (at best).
Now I have to assemble these people from the other teams and this is still not even a blip on their radar but number one priority for me so I somehow have to convince their bosses to allow them the time though it will only benefit me and my bosses.
All this to go along with several othe things that I have been told are also priority one (that whole priority one has lost all meaning by now). When I mentioned those other issues I was told to do this in my free time (translation= put in 90 hours a week for the next four weeks).
I have found out that it will not cost as much as I furst thought to start up a business of my own, one in which I would like to become a direct competitor of my current company as that falls in line with my experience anyway. The only problem would be the stream of income while the application is under development. I think I need to look a little deeper into the idea.
Are you Dilbert? I thought you were fictional?!?

I think I have somehow turned into Dilbert, or my life is mirroring the comic strip. Quite sad indeed.

Don't take this the wrong way, but get another job. Either you're miserable where you're currently working or you're a drama queen. Life's too short. Find someplace that makes you feel challenged and more wanted.

Why the fuck would anyone want a job where they said that.

Easier said than done. I am the only source of income in the family so I have a little less "wiggle room" here. Plus the entire industry in which I have experience has been changing for the worse over the past few years which means I have to change industries and take a decent cut in pay.
I have a back burner plan that I am working on though. I am hoping to pull in some of the others in my company who are equally as frustrated and use their experience in our industry to our advantage. I would absolutely love to start up my own company with the idea of either competing against this company or making enough waves to be able to sell the rights to the application.
Oh well, hopefully things either miraculously turn around or I can make that "dream" actually come true.

Whatever way this takes you, I hope it turns out for the best for you. in my company, I have no wiggle room, I am very low on the totem pole. It pays the bills and rent, thats what matters right now.
