Mike Greenberg (of Mike and Mike in the Morning), is hosting this one, and I love the concept. Since my sattelite is out, and I missed the first three episodes (it's a six episode run, M-Fri, and a finale on Sunday) I'm watching it streaming on ABC.com.
Looks like the winner of this trivia/guts competition will be making somewhere about $1.69 million

Wow, about 3/4ths through the first episode, I know about 70% of these answers.
Way too many commercials.I tried to get through the first episode but it was too much.

Surprised if someone knows it they don't act like they don't to try to force a press.

Somehow ended up watching this the last two nights going over to the Ma's for family time.
It's actually not too bad as far as these shows go, but man I have a hard time dealing with the overly dramatic hosts. It's just way over the top, and him gripping his pen or whatever was just too much.
The guy tonight, the Ump or whatever really made an ass out himself also. That was amusing.
The commercials were absolutely brutal though. More questions, less time on commercials and leading up to the next duel.

These shows have pretty much become how few questions can you ask while still having some semblance of entertainment.

Pretty much. I was watching that one game show about song lyrics over a friend's house last week or 2 weeks ago. The guy was singing an Elton John, badly, and then the song stops and he has to guess the lyric. But he doesn't guess right away, WE WILL BE RIGHT BACK!
Show comes back after a lengthy commercial break. They ask the two women with him if they think they know it, or something. Then these 3 choices appear for what the next line is, all 3 look semi-similar. So they go through some sort of process for the guy to select his choice. WE WILL BE RIGHT BACK!
Come back, and they provide the answer. One line, 2 commercial breaks and about 10 minutes of show. For one fucking question.
Worst game show ever.
I've watched Duel a few times, it is very over dramatic, the questions are pretty easy, although I don't get some of the more pop-culture questions (the one question tonight about Oprah and her magazine was the only one I was totally stumped on. With the others, I was able to at least narrow it to 2 answers). At least they get a few questions in between every commercial break. It's tolerable so far compared to other game shows.

I like the show and Mike makes for a pretty good host. It's an interesting concept and I'm pulling for the stuntwoman to get picked for a duel.

We watched the Steelers/Rams game until halftime and then switched over to Duel. We watched Duel with zero commericials and that helped a lot.

I've only watch Tuesday and tonight's episodes. I'm surprise there are so many complaining about the amount of commercials. I felt there weren't enough. I never have to hold it that long with other shows. Plus one of the breaks was like 30 seconds.
I'm enjoying it even if I don't like Greenie that much...

I honestly don't understand how anyone can live without a DVR.
( this isn't a comment on how people can't afford one, etc..., just one of those things that once you have it you wonder how you lived without it)

Two things stuck out to me in this thread. Mike Greenberg and too many commercials. Sounds like a morning show on ESPN I stopped listening to years ago.
I may give it a try though.

I am watching Duel and have enjoyed the show. Greenberg is the perfect host for this show because this game show screams for a straight-man and not a comedian.
I agree with the statement about the DVR. Unless it's sports, I rarely watch a show live anymore.

this show is lousy. 2 questions a half hour is just brutal.
it's not even remotely entertaining in it's current form. when the best part of the show is when the do the jokers wild spin for the next contestant you go problems.

Mike Greenberg (of Mike and Mike in the Morning), is hosting this one,
Oh that's who that was. I thought it looked like the guy that played the lead singer in "That Thing You Do", but I guess it's not.

It was obvious due to the time frame that it was water, but I'm really shocked that was the answer.

I did watch the show a couple of nights, but it should have been more fast paced. I liked the elimination of contestants, and the poker type strategy that was involved.
FTR, I actually did get the last answer. I was shocked that the final duel was a one and done though. That guy just proved the point that is isn't always the brightest that get to the final rounds.
His rationale for answering the last question blew me away. He apparently hasn't played with oil and water before. And the look on his face when Greenie asked him "why does oil float"
The other one was the guy who blew the "how many months have 31 days question?"

Greeny rules, and there's something called Tivo you might not have heard of.
Anyway, I hate game shows and haven't watched this show.

Greenberg is the reason I couldn't watch this show. What a deadbeat. Admittedly the show needs a more serious host, but he's got -zero- personality.

It amazed me how boring it was, to me anyway, given the money involved. Don't know if I would blame the format, the host, the contestants or what. Even with Tivo, I couldn't get into it.
Oh, and people are really dumb, on average.

This show clearly needed some dancing girls and Shatner yelling out, "Let's mambo!"
