The Arrested Development thread got me thinking of other shows that I've come close to liking as much as AD.

Personally, I loved the BBC Office, and thought that until the latest season the NBC version was fantastic, though season 4 was disappointing.

Anyone who loved Arrested Development should watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I'm currently a few episodes into the 3rd season and it's a fantastic show. I've heard it compared to Seinfeld because it's about nothing, and although that's true it has a much different type of humor. Another show I've been watching is Kenny vs. Spenny which starting being aired on Comedy Central and is in it's 4th season in Canada. This is perhaps my favorite show, which has two best friends competing against each other each episode, and was called by Trey Parker and Matt Stone one of the best looks at male friendships. Defintely worth checking out current episodes on comedy central and the older seasons.

Anyone else watching anything good?

I remember seeing some of the BBC Office years ago and liking it, haven't seen it since the NBC one came on though and would love to see it. Is it on DVD?

I just saw the commercial for Kenny vs. Spenny today, and I want to catch it. Although the fact it is two friends is news to me. I though Spenny was the goat they showed in the ad. :D

Mckerney mentioned 3 of the 4 or 5 comedies I've seen in the last few years.

I resisted checking out It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for the longest time, but I really hate those "we produced it for $50 and now we're on TV!" stories, but once I did, wow, that's something a little different than I've seen before. They sold it as "Seinfeld on Crack", and that's accurate.

The only other thing I've seen in the last few years is Curb Your Enthusiasm - the last season was a little all over the place - 5 or 6 great episodes and 5 or 6 where you could everything happen before it did.

I watch 30 Rock and really like it. Not sure House is a comedy but it's pretty funny as well. I watch How I Met your Mother but that's starting to wear thin for me. I like Big Bang Theory but I know many who don't as well. HBO's Entourage is also good.

Sunny in Philly is my favorite currently-running comedy (although it actually might be the only comedy I watch now, but still...). I really don't think a greater line has ever been spoken than:

"The police? The POLICE? The streets are flooded with the ejaculate of the homeless, and you people are counting on the police?"

Without doubt It's Always Sunny. Just amazing writing and execution.
