Captains and Leaders

How important are the roles of captains and leaders? I have only about two or three people in minor/medium affinities against the leaders, and I'd like to know how you could possible change who your leaders are. For some reason, the tight end D. Blakely from the Atlanta Falcons is the receiving corp captain. And then Marcus Wilkins, a rookie, is the captain. However, I will say that the computer who chose the captains chose decent ones because they somewhat have high leadership skill, but I'd still like to know if I can change them. Some of you probably already know I'm new here, and it's only been about a day since I've had this game. I'd appreciate any help or advice on this subject. Thanks.

I believe it's set to whoever has the highest leadership skill in that group, though I could be wrong.

Not sure what the tiebreaker is, either.

So no, you can't manually change them, but you can sign and/or trade for someone with a higher leadership that will change it, if I'm not mistaken.

Positional leaders are a combo of leadership modified by experience.

You can't modify them (well, except by cutting and/or signing others). The ideal leader at a position would be, in some order:
- liked many by his positional group
- not disliked by any in his posiitonal group
- liked by the QB
- have a strong personality (which governs the strength of the likes/dislikes)

The role of chemistry is in the game is fairly strong. If you given a choice between two similar players always choose the affinity/lack of conflict choice.
