My 360 has the death three red rings and I it's still under warranty from Best Buy but they've been out of stock since x-mass. What gives?! You would think Microsoft would be able to keep them in stock

They've been extremely scarce around here since the first week or so of december.

Huh..
I wonder what this Xbox 360 shortage will do to its January sales numbers. I can't wait for that thread.

Same here. I picked up my 360 right before Christmas (they had about 6 or 7 when I picked mine up). No Wiis.

I have 4 Best Buy's in a 20 mile radius and none of them have had the 360 (well, they do have the arcade ones) in stock since before x-mass.
I haven't been able to find a 360 so I can exchange mine as well.

We got two or three major restocks of the 360 Premium and the 360 Elite in the final two weeks of December.
We're talking 100+ each delivery.
None of those deliveries lasted more than a day.

Can you find a PS3?

Those've sold well since about September, but we had so MANY of the stinkin' things because of the first nine months of the year that despite the sales uptick, I still can't turn around without tripping over five of those.

Guys, Xbox comes with a 1 year manufacture warrenty
I bought mine in April, just had problem with it so I called Microsoft ( 800-469-9269 ) ... they just asked for my name, address and the serial number of my unit. They sent me a prepaid UPS box which I got in two days. I take off the hard drive and package it up into the box ( took 5 mins ) went to the local UPS store and shipped it back. Was told I would recieve my fixed or in most cases new unit in 2-3 weeks .
give that a try.

Good luck on the 2-3 weeks. I have have the 3 ring problems 3 times now. At best, it took them 4-6 weeks to get a refurbished box back to me.

SO I'm still not having luck finding 360 Pro or Elite. They do have the Xbox Arcade version and they will let me keep everything from my old pro xbox (hard drive, controller, cables). My question to you guys is should I do the exchange or just wait to get the pro edition. Are the Arcade and Pro/Elite versions the same other than the "accessories"?

They should be the same except for the Accessories....which is all that set them apart...

Assuming you don't want HDMI, just stick the hard drive on an Arcade and you have the Premium model they used to sell.

I thought the arcade had HDMI as well? And I would go ahead and do the switch, but I would be concerned that it may effect your warranty in the future. I'd hold out for a gift card of at least 50 bucks(difference between price you paid for the premium, and the current price of the premium).

I actually just got mine replaced from BB yesterday! Good news that came out from this is when I purchased the 360 I bought it for $399 - well, now they’re $349 so I got a $50 refund - which I used for another two year extended warranty from Best Buy.
