I used to use last.fm but then itunes stopped sending data to it and I don't care enough to try to fix it. I did look the other day and you have to have some stupid programming running in the background all the time and I have enough of that crap as it is.

mine doesn't :( the way it used to do it was via an itunes plug-in. i think it doesnt work after an itunes upgrade. for me anyway.

mj4h, when i signed up for last.fm i had to dl a program that logs what you do in itunes, but it stays in background and doesn't hog any memory

I'm on here now as path12. Work just started blocking streaming audio and video, but I found a site that lets me listen to pandora and send the selections to last.fm that seems to work, so yay for rulebreaking!

The day after the Christmas party at London-based Last.fm – CBS Interactive ordered 20% personnel cuts, says PaidContent.org. The staff party was last Wednesday and the axe fell not on the traditional Christmas goose but on a bunch of jobs – about 20 out of 95 - on Thursday. CBS bid against sister Viacom for social networking/music fan site Last.fm back in the frothier days of mid-2007, and paid $280 million for it.
