Did someone start one of these days ago and I didn't see it? If so screw off, your thread died. :p

So I started my day by going into the truck stop to have breakfast. I picked out the guy with a Terrell Owens jersey on, and sat down next to him with my Favre jersey on. :D We had a little fun talking crap to each other, though we both admitted it was all just to see who loses to the Patriots most likely.

From what I have been hearing all week, the Packers are the least favorite of the favorites. A bunch of people are picking the Seahawks in fact. I am hoping this is another case of people overestimating a team who won in the Wild Card round, as happens a lot.

Go Pack Go!

It's boring, but I see all four favorites winning. Indy will win by the biggest margin, GB will win by the smallest margin.

One of my favorite sports weekends of the year. More important than the Wild Card round and twice as many games as Championship weekend.

I have a bad feeling about the Pats/Jags game, though my head tells me the Pats will win easily.

What have you been reading? I don't think I've seen a single person pick the Seahawks. The most I've seen (and I happen to agree with) is that IF Hasselbeck plays an error free game AND the defense is able to pressure Farve into making a mistake or two, then the Seahawks have A CHANCE to win. The game is Green Bay's to lose, and I haven't read any articles (at least in the MSM - SI, ESPN, etc) that disagree.

Other than that game, I like the Giants going against a somewhat struggling Dallas offense. In the AFC, I can't see the two favorites losing.

I think 3 favorites win-

Packers 35 Seattle 24
Patriots 38 Jacksonville 23
Indy 31 San Diego 20
New York 27 Dallas 24

I don't know how hurt T.O. is and the Giants have been playing really well of late, so I'm going with them. Plus I'd like to see the NFC Championship at Lambeau. I don't think I've seen too many people picking the Seahawks, but I agree that they could pose a tough matchup. Seattle has been inconsistent on the road and they beat up on terrible teams all year. The two favorites in the AFC should win pretty easily. SD had Gates out, NE will stack the box and stifle the running game of the Jaguars, David Garrard is out of his element. They didn't really play that well last week, Pittsburgh just played bad and Big Ben made mistakes. Brady won't make those mistakes.

Washington was the vogue pick last weekend. This weekend its the Giants.

We'll see which Eli shows up.

The Seahawks schedule is a joke and their secondary is overrated and will be exposed if Favre has mearly an average day. Seattle has beaten one playoff team this year other than last weeks Todd Collins and that was in the first week of the season.

It's very tempting to take the Seahawks at +9. I like the Packers to squeeze out the win, but I don't see it being by any more than a touchdown.

Not reading, listening. LIstening to NFL Radio to be more exact. It is nothing but former (and some current) players, coaches, and GMs, with the normal media guys thrown in as well. All day every day. The most common upset pick I heard guys picking all week was the Seahawks, on most of their shows. The two guys on my favorite show had Green Bay all the way though. :D That was Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwin. I think Bob Papa and Shannon Sharpe may have said the Packers would win as well.

In a big surprise, Bob Papa picked the Giants to win as well. Shocker there, being their pBp guy.

I know this is late (and I haven't checked) but my picks are Seahawks, Pats, Cowboys and either Colts/Bolts :) . Favre will have his typical day of overthrowing receivers, forcing the ball into triple coverage because he has the heart of a warrior, and throwing interceptions against an underrated Seahawks team.

That's ok, I'll take all of the heat. But let's not dwell on who said what and when. Let's talk about the game! The Seahawks are getting absolutely no pressure on Favre. They only have 1 sack thus far and Favre hasn't made any mistakes. Seattle needs to find a way to get to him because he has all day to throw. After those 2 fumbles, Grant has dominated. He has 91 yards and 2 TDs. On offense, Hasselbeck is playing well but as we expected, Seattle's running game is non-existent. Alexander has 6 yards on 6 carries. I think Seattle is a team that has relied on the turnover all year. They'll need to continue that trend if they are to win this game.

Packers radio broadcast rocks even while watching the game. Just heard about how after the 2nd Grant fumble McCarthy chewed him out some, and when he was done rookie WR James Jones gave it to him even worse I guess. After going over and sitting on the bench by himself for a few minutes he got up and walked over to the offensive line a THANKED each one of them and told them to just give him another shot at it.

Not sure I get the thanking, maybe he just didn't want to say sorry.

Good qualifier as I often enjoy punching a few holes at home - esp when watching GB in the postseason. Early on I was having flashbacks of that Rams game, thankfully the Pack recovered. As an aside, GB is really using the RBs in the passing game today and it's opening so many things up. Here's hoping that stays as a main cog in their playbook.

Brandon Jackson is becoming a player to watch as well as Grant.

He was supposed to be what Ryan Grant has become. A crap start and then injuries gave Grant his shot. Jackson has really improved the last 4-5 weeks though and I am glad to see it.

Basically, ever since Seattle has gone up 14-0, they've done nothing right. The Packers are doing a great job of executing, but Seattle's defense is turning in a pitiful performance vs. the run and pass. Grant seems to go for at least 6 yards a carry. Almost no pressure at all on Favre. Meanwhile on offense Seattle hasn't exactly been clicking either. They've moved the ball a bit, but can't sustain drives because the Packers have been able to get pretty good pressure.

Barring a miracle, it looks like it will be the expected GB-Dallas rematch next week. Yes, Dallas will win. Don't believe the hype like before the first two times Dallas and NYG played (Romo can't come back from his playoff gaffe, The Giants are the hottest team in the NFC).

The initial play looked like he was intentionally grabbing his neck ina horsecollar tackle but the replay close in slow mogave me the impression it wasn't as severe as it looked. I don't know what the rule is for that penealty if it matters only that he tackled the guy by the neck or that it was intentional. In any case it was good not calling it being the nature of the game (playoffs). The Horse Collar is a lot more complicated than just being a tackle around the neck/shoulder pads - it is a relatively specfiic motion. I missed that tackle because I was flipping to a CAA basketball game, but it has to be a pretty specific motion.
